Good game, wish it were better.
POSITIVES:
-Top notch graphics for a flash game.
-Music and sound effects that go so well with the game.
-Great presentation/extras (i.e. diaries that you pick up, detailed explanation for each item).
-Story that sucks you into the game.
-Varied gameplay (from sneaking to all-out brawl to beat the clock)
-Overall very addicting once you start (you feel like you have to see the ending).
NEGATIVES:
-Serious lag quite a few times in my gaming laptop. There should be a quality adjustment (L/M/H).
-Endless monsters pop out of holes, which is annoying to say the least, and the fact you can't step on their holes means trouble when you are surrounded or retreating, which is very annoying.
-Boss was way too easy.
-Not much incentive to level up, other than seeing ranks.
-Lack of worthwhile customization (like armor). Existing customization (weapons) is not that good. I felt no difference between some of the weapons, like not-upgraded-at-all assault rifle and fully-upgraded pulse rifle. Should be a greater distinction of ability between weapons.
One big problem I have about this game is weapons. For example, Vulcan, which is supposed to be the best weapon in the game (according to price, description, and level requirement), but it actually is the worst. Vulcan takes too much time to start, and you usually take damage before trying to kill things, esp. one that pops out from the dark. Was useful only in the boss battle. I think it should've been the cheapest weapons because it sure shoots like one.
Final Word: High-quality, very ambitious flash game from Squize and luxregina. This game has so much potential and was too much fun (more mature than vast majority of your everyday flash game), that this game is a must-play for flash-game fans. However, I wish what I found to be those minor problems would be gone for next Outpost game because I can't wait what the next chapter of this story will be. Keep up the good work, Squize and luxregina, you 2 are doing great.
