Inivitive & exciting! Took me a while to complete, but worth it! Now I just need the other ending...
Very confusing at times, but wonderful!
I admit, i did get stumped a few times, but after a few minutes of thought, ya get what to do next. I deeply enjoyed how as you delved deeper and deeper into the "Box" you start recieving messages that make you question whether your character is sane at that point. The endings were very good as well. Kinda made me reflect a bit. I just have a question, for the wall of text for the good ending, is that a true story about one of you three? All in all, it's a great game that i would recommend to many people.
Bleak but fascinating and compelling.
It reminded me of the films "Primer" and "Cube 2/Hypercube", in that it was a cautionary tale about breaking the laws of reality with some grim and tragic twists. I loved the messages you received from your future selves, I found them by turns funny and then extremely disturbing. I like this method of fragmented narrative / story telling a lot, it rewards speculation and guesswork on the part of the player.
The way you could interact with the scenery and the platforms was very original, I especially liked the way you could cause some platforms to shatter. The "time shift" function where you could jump to platforms which previously were "not there" was also simple but stunningly innovative, opening up whole new horizons and possibilities. It was also great to see another game which allowed you to carry blocks and build things out of them - a bit like the old Knightshade game for the Spectrum.
I have barely started to scratch the surface of this game, I think I will be playing it for a good long time. I think you have created something which will inspire many generations of game designers to come (no exaggeration !).
This has got to be one of the most surreal games I've every played! All in all, it wasn't a bad game, just very strange and hard to understand. It really took off when I found out I was able to use the "A" button to switch things. I have to give you props for having some pretty enjoyable environments to run away, and all of those custom games were very good.
It would be better if up was jump
