Try angeling the light, it should sell the depth of the object better. Otherwise, multiple lights are awesome!

Who are you?

radiosity models indirect light bounces.
wow...... from now on, radiosity is on! thanks! :D

Hah! What program fo you use? Because if it's blender I suggest you google for tutorials before using it to optimize your usage, otherwise the rendertime will increase a goodly amount.

Forum sig? Whats that.. 3D art thread, My art thread

Zbrush 3 decided to make my creation into a 2D object before I was even ready to add the eyes, textures, etc. so this is what I am left with. First time with Zbrush, and it is very confusing how it likes to work. (if you save it it seems to flatten the damned thing, or if you try to use click a shape it becomes the brush and it is nearly impossible to return to the normal brushes like displacement and all that)

Zbrush has this thing called "2.5D"

watch through the tutorials to understand what's going on. i only used the 30 day trial... so i don't know completely. i think there's a sort of tool, versus a environment...

These helped. i think ya need to sign up though...

click projection master and "pick up" or something like that, it picks up you model to allow editing.

it keeps saying I need a 3D tool to use projection master. :(

sorry man, but that model is lost forever, there are two different kind of saves in zbrush: Document save which saves all the lighting settings as well as the used materials in a .zbr format - doesn't save models or 'tools'. Then there is tool save, It depends on the layout you're using but normally all the available tools are on the right hand tab. Just click on the tool you want to save and click save (.ztl) you can also export as a .obj. If you ever lose the tool to the canvas again just make sure you have the right tool selected and draw it on the canvas again, then go into edit mode at the top to start modelling again.

I used to do some 3D stuff until I had a hardrive crash. Here's something I did a while ago. It's not all that great.

Not really much changed since the last one I posted in this image but I like the composition and look better. I'm done the body for now and I'm already working on the clothes

that's amazing. Do you shade them or is that just the spots being placed so good?
it's looks so real (how do you do that)

Response to 3d Artists Over Here!!! 2008-06-23 08:32:50

hey jds your hitman is actually lookin really good, he looks like the movie version.

Response to 3d Artists Over Here!!! 2008-06-23 22:34:18

thx guys

He kinda has half of his 'member' there - it looks freaky if nothing is there, but I don't really care to go into much detail :)

The shader I used was just a standard skin matcap in zbrush - it just uses the normals of the mesh to come up with the colour.

I'm still not sure whether I want to go with the proportions in the games, or a more realistic version of him - this is kind of an in between

Once I finish his suit I'll tweak the proportions some more

finished roughing in the clothing, the pants and jacket still need wrinkling and I'm going to have to rework the shirt as well. I haven't made the tie, or shoes and there is no detail at all on the gloves.

cool, are you going off the same base for these or starting from scratch every time?

I reworked the face alot, but you probably wont notice because of the shadows. all the clothes except the shoes are blocked in but they all need tweaking in terms of proportion and detail still.

This was the first proper scene I rendered in 3DSMax 8. You can tell that there are still errors, but I was happy with it :]

The new hitman looks fabulous, but his forehead sticks out a little much.

I think that base is the same as the Assassin character.
