Konami Celebrates 20 Years Of Metal Gear
It's a big anniversary year; Square-Enix is celebrating 20 years of Final Fantasy, and Konami is celebrating 20 years of Metal Gear. Part of that celebration? A flashy new website, featuring all kinds of new info on every entry in the series, including Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.
More details on those re-releases of Metal Gear classics are also revealed at the site, so you can take a closer look at the new budget versions of Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence, and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. All of these games will hit Japan on July 26 and come equipped with a sleek limited edition sleeve.
They're also planning to release a Metal Gear Solid Collection, which includes the four titles listed above for the price of 6,900 yen. It will feature a special DVD called, "Metal Gear Saga," which is an in-depth, behind-the-scenes look at the history of the legendary franchise. This will release in Japan on July 26 as well, but there's no news yet regarding U.S. release dates for any of these classic games.
To top it all off, hardcore fans can indulge in some of the franchise's fantastic music on July 18, when the "Metal Gear Music Collection" gets released. We know there are plenty of MGS lovers out there, so all this comes as good news, right? Sure it does.
