Hi people, wazzup?
I'm studying hard, so I don't have much time to post here.
So, talking about PS2, here here news:

Media Create Japan Hardware Sales: May 14th-20th

Hardware has followed software's trend. Last week both hardware and software sales dipped, and this week the fall continues a bit more. Primarily handheld sales were affected the most, as other consoles didn't budge very much. Nintendo DS sales dropped down to 111k units sold, and the PSP dropped down below the 30k mark with 27.5k sold. Home consoles were virtually unaffected, as they all managed to sell nearly the very same amount of units this week compared to last week. The Wii is still going strong with 52k, meanwhile the PS3 sold a mere 8,659. June 7th will see the release of Folksoul, and June 14th will see Ninja Gaiden Sigma - both titles should hopefully bump sales of the PS3 a bit.

Nintndo DS - 111,239
Nintendo Wii - 52,193
Sony PSP - 27,505
Sony PS2 - 10,881
Sony PS3 - 8,659
Xbox 360 - 2,026

May 6th-13th:

Nintendo DS - 163,824
Nintendo Wii - 52,544
Sony PSP - 34,433
Sony PS2 - 10,414
Sony PS3 - 8,839
Xbox 360 - 2,105

They could always create it with a two-disc set, could they?

Yes, but that would make the game BIGGER, not better graphics or more innovative gameplay.

As much as I love this, I think it's too mis-leading towards the overall sales of the consoles due to the fact that this is only records of JAPANS sales even though there's a much bigger scale on which to work on.

The Xbox isn't really favoured in Japan and that's something I knew for a long time.
Nintendo are loved and Sony are in the middle as the sales obviously show.

Well, graphics don't really matter that much if the game isn't good.
Like, who of us would buy a Harry Potter game (for example) if it had life-like graphics but shit gameplay and other factors?

Anyway, a two-disc set or even three-disc set WOULD be capable of improving graphics, gameplay and other qualities.
It would probably restrict a game to be less open-ended and more level-based but if the game in was developed in such a way, then it COULD become as equally open-ended as even Oblivion.

I do see were your coming from, but you can only fit a normal amount on a disc:
Disc one: Texturising (no room for smoothing)
Disc two: Smoothing (no room for texturising)

But what i am getting at is I think the devlopers behind assassins creed are getting lazy and cocky.

Actually, you could fit both of those onto both discs each.
You just have to split the game and it's story itself onto each disc.
The same happened on previous games on earlier consoles such as the PS with games like FF7 gradually getting better to FF9.

But what i am getting at is I think the devlopers behind assassins creed are getting lazy and cocky.

That is true. I agree that some developers are getting lazy but at the same time, they're trying to make money. Not spend more money making the game than what sales make.
Production costs of games are getting higher and the amount of work needed is getting more and harder. So, yet again, simple solutions like more discs would solve some of these problems.

I never thought about it like that, although there is an extent to things you can go to with extra disks. Also, the price.

It's still an extent further than one-disc.
I'm not sure if it is an extra cots. Factory costs and costs per disc would be factors but discs arent that much. Facotory costs would rise the price but it was nothing that coulnd't have been overcome years ago with the PS.

I'm not entirely sure on that matter.

I was actually waiting for it to come out, think I should buy it? or is it too over-rated, I'm saving money for my own PS3...

Haha that's the shortest game I've ever played in my life, I always seem to play it after I've given up on completing Resident Evil 1 with Chris, then I finish it in a couple of hours...maybe more, but still very short XD

If I remember thats where you live?

yeah that's where I live, as for PS3 games they actually cost something like 80 $ now, depending on the ratings of the game. but yeah you're right, MGS4 is coming out soon and it's not like I don't have unfinished games for the PSP.

Its not hard to forget, now who remembers MGS 2? I think I broke my disk for that, because it sucked. Really who likes MGS 2?

I remember that. I loved it. I thought it had great gameplay, a mediocre main character and a fucked up story which was kinda cool. Snake Eater was best.

You paid $400 for the 50 gig Playstation 3? I think you got a great deal then. 60 gig's cost a lot of money here. $600 just for a 60 gig Playstation. Luckly, the price will be lowered for the PS3 soon.

Oh no. Not 400 dollars, 400 pounds. That comes up to about 800 dollars or something, we payed the most out of everyone...And it was a 60gig, not fifty, sorry.

I'm not really looking to join (mainly because I'm just in so many other crews), but I would like to have your opinion.

What game should I get for the PS3? I've been asking around, and would very much appreciate your input, seeing how you know a lot about the Playstation.

I would wait for Abyssus, he has a PS3 and he is always talking the upcoming games.

Hello. If I was you I would get Resistance: Fall Of Man if you're after a shooter; the multi-player is great.
If you want a racer get Motorstorm, its manic.
But Oblivion is also huge and incredible at the same time.

Right now I'm waiting for The Darkness to come out, some time around June I think.

Shit, that's the worst thing that can happen. It's also why we choose to get an LCD, although a little smaller, because the health bar could burn.

I only watched the beginning, and the guy kept talking about random stuff so I got board, but I am good. More then a two to one ratio of kills to deaths.

Cliff Bleszinski of Epic has even been quoted as threatening Microsoft to port over GeOW to the PS3 to try to leverage some developer rights over the content of the game and XBox Live, but they have already inked the contract and Microsoft is winning much to the chagrin of Epic. Is there a change in the tides over at Epic? Have they learned their lesson from doing business with the devil?

lol

Unreal Tournament games have always used OpenGL in correlation with DirectX in the PC sector. These guys were also one of the first to show off their game engine running on early PS3 devleopment hardware at E3 '05. It seems almost like a perfect match. "

The ball is definitely in Epic's court right now. They definitely have Microsoft by the sack on this one.

I wish, it's problery rubbish, I also saw bioshock is just for 360 too, bastards.

-It's great to play that Punky Skunk game again for the PS1. Got a copy of it since my old one got scrached up badly. It was under $5 dollars too. :D
