What's there to do on NG?

I've been a member of Newgrounds since December, and I must say my early-on reception's been pretty good.

But... I'm at a loss of what people do here.

1. I tried using the forums more, but when I think about posting a thread, I shoot them down myself before they go anywhere.
2. Naturally I try posting more art, aye but the muse is fickle and somewhat cruel.
3. I wanna meet more users on here, but that usually involves browsing the portals or forums (as far as I know,) and I'm a lil' overwhelmed with the massiveness of them.
4. The feed looks like a nice spot to hang, to see something new pop up and comment on it, but somehow for weeks nobody's posting anything. (It must just be the lack of followed users I hope.)
5. I tried searching for a "club"? Is that what they're called? But they were either too old and inactive, or about things I'm not interested in.

So... What do people on Newgrounds do?

1. Just a post a thread don't you know? :D See where it leads! No idea's a bad idea. Like this one. It's not a bad idea.

4. For the feed, you need to follow some people for that place to liven up a bit. Once you've started finding a few favorites it's soon... almost too much. XD
5. Clubs & Crews used to be a lot more active back in the day, but don't hesitate to jump into any of them if you want to! Maybe you can bring one of them back to life a bit. They do need users to be active so... someone's gotta post to get something started.

You can try offering services like opting to make forum signatures for others. You can also seek reviews from the Review Request Club, and maybe offer some if you're feeling charitable. Maybe offer your skills to the Collabinator.

You can always make a new club, expose others to the things you are into.

Perhaps you'd like to patrol the portal with the Elite Guard, securing a better cleaner environment for us all.

This is just the tip of the iceberg of the things you can do here. It helps to observe what others are doing.

No worries, I felt the same way when I first joined and it does look pretty intimidating at first. If you start using it more and get more acquainted with people (even make some friends along the way), you'll feel more comfortable and want to post more. You don't have to necessarily make threads, as long as you interact with everyone else. Just make some replies, follow some people, look at some art. I feel like the simplest ways are the most effective.
