Twitter and DA are way overrated. NewGrounds has plenty of great content. Just make sure you keep an eye on the rules and mods.
I used to heavily use the site from 2002-2008 when the internet was brand-new to little me, and even though I left for a while, listening to Sleepycast brought back all those memories I had of this place, and after seeing what most of what my favorite animators from this site moved on to do, I decided to pop back here and become a supporter. Posting art on Newgrounds really inspired me to get better at it, and without this site I probably wouldn't be drawing today, or even be the same person.
So thanks Newgrounds for being that weird site that had those Retarded Animal Babies cartoons and that one Frank's Adventure game, you know the one
