Ironically, there was a time when it was my goal to get ahead of you. My, how the tables have turned. It's a shame I don't have just a little more time for medal games this week, I could have been among the 40k+ users. As it stands it looks like I'm going to sit in 13th this time around, as the highest ranking sub-40k user.

This list is a testament to persistence. Getting medals every day for two weeks and I only have a little over 3,000. It just shows how much work you have to put in to actually get the thousand something medals required to even get on the list.

Yeah, the amount of time required to get a medal score of 40k+ (LEGALLY) is really massive..I usually get them in a "sprint" fashion, this meaning that I get a lot in quick succession and then nothing for a bit, then a "sprint" again etc.
Why do I do this?So that I don't lose interest.If I try too hard for a long time, I might get bored and/or annoyed, and quit for a long time...and if I quit for a long time, I'll have a lot of lost ground to cover up, which means even more gaming so greater possibility of getting bored again...

Heh, I think I've ascended 20k in the last month legally... I don't have a job, school or girlfriend to worry about though, so time is cheap.

Eh, I just skip the games I get frustrated at or bored with... Like Ching Chong Beautiful, which until today I could not play worth a damn. But three coffees and six hours later, I have all the medals for it. Now all I have to do is grind out Time Fcuk voting (ugh) and play Doom, Hexen and Heretic...
Don't get me wrong, Doom was fun... twelve years ago... I start it up and stare at it and turn it off... I can not bring myself to play those games for some reason...

Whats happened to me? I dropped all the way down to 19! Is it still possible to catch up? (I haven't looked at the games with medals page in a month, and even still I had a lot of games there I didn't even look at.)

You can catch up pretty easily. None of the games are huge time sinks so you can get the points back quickly. It is getting seriously crowded in the top 10. I'm probably going to fall out of it again sometime soon.

And that's me deciding to stay up to get the Survivor medal, and overtaking you by 15 at 39,765 points. Booya! Seriously though, pain in the ass medal. I had to make sure I dropped every mine in the game. Wow.

If you get the "vote on 100 maps" medal before the "beat survival" one, for some reason "beat survival" doesn't work.
I still remember playing for hours trying to beat survival and then getting thin air as a reward...
