Reviews for "Devoured Intellect"

Spoilers: I reveal who the monster is so don't real until you beat the game!

I questioned them all just for the dialog, but I knew instantly who it was. After hearing the barbarian had no plans when the waitress shoved his face into her breasts. I knew he was an imposter.

BoobMarley responds:

Good on you for seeking out all the content, that means a lot. Thanks for playing and taking a moment to review.

Oh great. I can't even pick the monster on the first time right but of course I'll immediately pick on the another thing you're not supposed to.

Otherwise funny game, loved all the characters and got spooked by the loud music.

BoobMarley responds:

Haha, glad you eventually got it. Thanks for playing!

Enjoyable short game. I won the game on my first guess and got both medals.

Good:
1. The logic of the correct answer. I got it after some thinking. There were additional clues that I felt were embedded in the game, though I won't spoil the game by mentioning what they were here.
2. Sound, graphics, and animation were good considering the restrictions.
3. Overall creativity, including the incomplete "guide"

Bad:
1. We should be allowed to re-interview any individual party member whenever we want, and not have to re-interview the entire party over again if we just need to re-interview one person.

Ugly:
1. Arrows needed to advance dialogue were small, kept changing positions, and hard to see as it blended into backgrounds. Why do we need to click an arrow? Why can't we just click anywhere to advance the dialogue?

I can see Aubrey Plaza playing the role of the Rogue in the live-action movie :P

BoobMarley responds:

Good: Thanks

Bad: Nope. There's no easy way out. Do it right the first time, or do it all again.

Ugly: Clicking the arrows, and having them change places, helps ensure players don't accidentally double-tap and skip dialogue, and forces them to be attentive to everything being said.

One sticking point- why would the creature respond in a manner devoid of lived experience if, in the process of consuming its host body's brain, consumed said brain's memories?
If, by that, you meant that it somehow literally cosumed said memories for sustenance, and therefore would not have access to them, then that could perhaps be made clearer, however otherwise, there's a touch of discrepancy therein.

I realise that the parallel which you might draw on in that regard would be Rachel, however keep in mind that she was an incredibly convincing example of her ilk within the relevant context.

BoobMarley responds:

Fantastic question! Here you go: memories can tell you the date of someone's birthday or the color of your favorite shirt, but only first-hand experience in the rich, chaotic arena of life could enable someone to articulate with any sustenance something abstract like the taste of a good steak, or the electric thrill of kissing someone for the first time.

I am not familiar with Rachel, so... ?

Anyways, thanks for playing and taking the time to ask such an important question.

Great game! Wish it could be longer though. The music when you guessed the monster scared me a little bit tbh. Hope to see more in the future.

BoobMarley responds:

Glad you got spooked, sissy. Thanks for playing.
