Reviews for "Redshift"

so..

A nice shoot 'em up game, with a long story line I didnt bother myself with. The game itself is pretty easy..... actually its to easy, I didnt die once and I was on planet 6 or something. The game gets to repetetive and to easy. when you get some nice weapons and shields its gets even easier and there is no challenge to it anymore (not that there was any in earlier levels).

The weapon and shield inventory is crap. at least make 2 separate places for shields and weapons, now I have to scroll through everything to recycle and to see the stats.

redeem is a nice thing, but I never got something nice out of it, so for me it was worthless. The enemies dont really change, sure you implemented more diffrent types of enemies at later levels, but somehow they werent really more difficult.

I dont know what you were trying to do when creating non firing waves, those are just stupid and dont contribute to the game.

The bosses seemed similar to each other also, again they were very easy to kill and never was I cornered or near death. later bosses were killed even faster because I had better weapons, it didnt seem they got stronger or anything.

so all of the above made the game very repetitive to me and after so many levels of shooting and not even trying but still passing levels I got bored and quit.

the gameplay is nice and so is the style, it wouldnt surprise me if it makes frontpage, but for me its a 5/10 2/5 mostly because I expect more of your 'team' (diseased productions)

Good but...

A great game, well played but in fact it doesn`t is better than blueshift and that is a big mistake in my opinion because it is a secuel.
besides a good game but a little too short and boring for moments too.

seen it before

I shouldn't be feeling nostalgic over a game I played 10+ years ago on the SNES when playing this. Although I would recommend going with the inventory system they used then.

Eh, was the lie necessary?

It was fun for a while, but the description of the game is an intentionally misleading half-truth. It would be like WoW saying it has billions of classes because one person can have +1 skill on something and someone else +1 on another and therefore those are two dif classes.

This game has like 3 weapons and 3 shields, with a few dif ones thrown in.

There's a gunshot machine, which can vary from 1 bullet per shot to 5 (as far as I've been to)

There's a rocket launcher.

There's a beam weapon.

Throw in a few weird weapons like saw blades and such, but the other 3 are the main ones.

There's 2 dif shields, one will absorb power to release an EMP, the other will just reflect the bullets, with one or two "weird" shields thrown in.

They're saying dif weapons because one will have more attk, another more accuracy, another one is an upgrade, and so on. The different named ones are often just slight variations, like the "Shotgun" is just a bullet machine with 2 shots.

No real customization of WHERE you equip the items, and I played for a long while and still no ability to wear more than one, so the whole game you just find one weapon (once you get a strong 5 spread machine gun you wont find better...), and keep using it in hopes of finding one with +1 stat to it.

The shields are equally pointless.

So yeah, this is a standard side shooter with 3 weapons and 2 shields.
