Reviews for ""Strange Fruit""

very good

very nice vid and very touching. Only thing would maybe, if in future you were to do the same sort of thing, you could make the lyrics appear/ scroll at the same time as the singer sings them. 8/10

J-qb responds:

Thank you, About the scrolling lyrics: I thought about that, but figured it would be more of a distraction in this song.
For any other song it might be better suited.

Makes you think

good animation, good use of colour. Just dont think we should feel sorry for black people tbh.

J-qb responds:

It's not about a certain group of poeple. It's about that thing called racism (whether against whites or blacks or chinese or jews or arabs or anybody) that only causes hurt.

Very powerful

It is certainly a very passionate song, no doubt about that. It immerses you and the imagery comparisons are very moving. However, aside from the song, there was very little animation. Although its understandable for a piece like this. Even appropiate. Would like to see some more advanced work from you, keep up the good effort!

J-qb responds:

I'm currently (in between responding to reviews) working on another project which will have more animation in it.

Good Job

And I'm thankful that you took your time to do this piece,
it will make a great epitaph to thos whom its dedicated.

beautiful (:

the song was very powerful and probably enhanced your flash. your drawings fit the mood of the theme and it looks fine the way it is. it's understandable why people thought it was towards that group. When i watched it, my thoughts went more towards the lyrics. If you wanted to introduce the theme of racism, i think a different song would've been more suited. I don't know, i perceived this short as more of an african american slavery thing rather than anything else. Because the fact that you said that this was about racism, i've got to look into the story too and how it's presented. You just followed the song's story when you could've shown different aspects of racism. ehhh... i feel like a jerk for posting this... i really liked it though! just the fact that your objective didn't get through to me... i just wanted to let you know since this is a serious topic.

J-qb responds:

thanks, don't feel bad about it. I can handle any criticism, It'll only make my next work better (hopefully)
