I've been mucking around with materials. This brown paper was a very good choice, as it opens up the option of white, like you mentioned earlier.

i had a bunch of stickers i needed to get rid of... sorry if you got a random 'vote' sticker.. there was really no other place i could have used them.

eventually i did run out and started going into my tankmen / pico stickers.. and on the batch sent yesterday.. i was out of everything so you got nuthin :)

i rushed just to make sure, and i believe they get presented in order of received, and plus, mine looks like a work of god compared to some stuff i saw last year.

reason i made the deadline so far ahead is because it takes about 2 weeks to get it to some parts of the world and another 2 for them to make it back to me so in reality those people will have very little time to work on it.

I've started updating the list of returned entries.. just scan through the database from before.. entries returned are in blue. 2 so far, and great ones at that.

I dont know your habits, some people are just really slow ... while some interpret the sketchbook as capturing a spur of the moment. The beauty of the project is that it allows for both.. so I guess just evaluate what kind of artist you are. Maybe you can do it in a matter of days ... maybe you want to do heavy planning..

personally, i think the idea of having this one paper to sort of represent you amongst a pool of 100+ artists gives it a bit more pressure to make something that feels more representative of what you can do.

well this project seems important so i dont think im going to do a spur of the moment type thing here, i want to do something great and make myself look good in the process, so im going to use as much time as i need.

damn I woke up and had two lovely packages sitting on my dresser, one was Pink Floyd the Wall on DVD sent from my dad and the other was from Luis and was for the sketchbook tour.

I was really surprised, I figured, I was like two weeks late and the pool was filled up so I didn't plan on making it in so it was a nice thing to wake up to.

and on the topic of evaluating yourself as an artist, I don't plan what im going to be drawing really but I do take a long time to do it so I suppose it is spur of the moment dragged out over the course of several days.

Thanks Luis, I got mine. :D I was quite surprised at the small size, but I'll have to make the best of it. It's too small for a map, so I'll have to think up something else. Does anybody have any ideas?
