What does this place mean to you?

To me, this is a place to call home. When you have such a massive number of people on the BBS, its only too easy to just blend into obscurity, but with the NGPD, and the far smaller population, it feels that what you say is noticed more, and therefore matters that little bit more.

It also encourages me to B/P far more, with the use of light competition. B/ping has always been the stat that I haven't done so well in, due to the fact that it takes so long to level up, and it's fairly tedious, but this has made me B/P so much more, and I appreciate that :)

So, for those points, thank you NGPD.

Well, other people's replies sum up what I was going to say... Anyway, I'll answer this:
In the BBS, there aren't many places when you can talk with mature people, the most active forum (this is, of course, General) is full of shit and you can't say something without being criticized and insulted for no reason. In this place, however, we can discuss and even talk about random stuff maturely. We read each other's posts and reply to them, and that's why I like posting here (as well in some other specific threads).
Also, this place encouraged me to B/P a bit more, and it was fun to get some competition (well... everyone who remembers my pace will know that the competition wasn't very though).

This is the first thread were I felt like this, so that's why I love it so much.

WELL, we already celebrated the NEW YEAR here in our country and we faced 2009 with a BANG. We screamed as hell and chanting the 'Auld Lang Syne', we ate a lot of food after the countdown and opened every radio in our neighborhood to maximize the noise.

I love the Dawin Awards, but on the website, I saw something rather depressing. They had a notification of them removing a a nominee for the darwin award due to his circumstances.

the man suffered from depression and was having a very hard time in his job and his life. While at work (he work for a construction company) he tried to use a nailgun to kill himself. His boss heard him yell and found him in the attic of the home; the man was in the corner crying with half a dozen nails sticking out of his skull.

The man did not succeed in his attempt of suicide, but it made me wonder how a guy so tortured would get nominated as a moron. It was simply heart-wrenching.

Well, this thread seems to have temporarily died, so a new topic may be vaguely relevant..

To me, it's getting late in the night, and the day is almost over. I glanced back over today's submissions, and one thing in particular struck me. Excluding this one flash, nothing has surpassed the "Awesome" score (3.60) today. P-Bots post tomorrow won't show this, as a couple of the things will carry over from yesterday night, and I'm sure people will submit higher-scoring stuff in between now and 12:00 NG Time, but, for at least 18 hours, nothing outstanding has been submitted.

Why do the days not average out in terms of good submissions? It even seems that the scores are lower on the weekend, which, to me, doesn't make sense...Most people on NG will be under 18, and thus submit things on the weekend when they are free. Obviosuly, it is the Winter break at the moment, but the statistics still don't add up..

This is a completely non-important issue, but a vaguely interesting one at that. Anyone care to divulge into the world of statistic-based Flash Portal analysis?
