The Hanging (Storyline) Collab

Welcome to the Hanging Collab! In this, my first collab, the viewer will be left hanging several times.

The idea is that someone joins the collab and makes a "set" of two or more parts with one storyline that continues each part--for instance, part one is a man walking down the street and a bomb falls at his feet, part two is the bomb exploding and the man dying. But I will break them apart--I will play the first part, then switch to someone else's part, leaving the viewer hanging. Later on in the animation, the second/third/fourth/etc part will be played, picking up where the previous part left the person hanging.

Format: Flash 8
Stage: 400x300
Frame Rate: 24fps

What is Allowed?
You can include frame-by-frame or tweening, whichever you prefer. Sticks are fine, if I like the animation. You may use sound fx, if they sound good. Violence is also allowed (and encouraged :D)

What is NOT Allowed?
You may not use sprites. You may not include nudity, profanity, or adult themes. You may not include copyrighted material (including Mario, etc.). Little-to-no talking in your set.

Other Rules
I would prefer that people who join have a batting average of 3.0 or more, or that I already know and trust the person. If the part is good, then it doesn't matter, though. I can say that I don't want your part if I don't like it (well, duh).

Send your completed parts to me, either by linking the .fla here or emailing a link (don't email me the file--upload it somewhere like http://www.spamtheweb.com/ul and email me just the link). Post previews (or the final product) of your work here, if you wish.

Let's see...I'll make transitions, add music, make the menu, and add your name in the corner, so don't bother with any of those. I may make credits, but if you would like to make some, I would consider using them.

I actually checked with a mod before I posted this, as well as several people who have done plenty of collabs--they all said it was good. Sorry you didn't like the idea, though. Good luck with your collabs or submissions :)

It needs some work. The idea is right-on, but the animation isn't too good. First off, I don't like the "???" or the cat pic in there.

As for the rest of the animation, it doesn't look so good, drawing wise. The sun and sky don't look very good. The animation of the egg falling and the cracked part of the egg aren't good at all--they aren't believable--the egg falls too slow, and the cracked part wouldn't just fly off the screen, at least not that slow.

I did like the idea a lot, though. I also liked the cracking animation on the egg.

I also forgot to mention that the stage size should be 400x300, and 24fps--it doesn't seem like your animation has those specs.

I'm sorry that you don't like the idea. I've checked with a couple people who have been in several collabs, and I was told that this was a good idea. I'm also sorry that you don't like ZeRo-BaSs's music, even though it's incredibly cool. Good luck to you on your next collab/flash!

Please take this argument out of here--this thread is meant for people who want to join the collab or give constructive criticism on it--all you've done is come in, bash it up, and start arguments with each other. Please leave, or help this collab.

Also note that I am not going to use the current song during the animation--it's only the menu music.

I'm talking about people who see this collab and think "hmm, that's a clever idea" and make parts for it.

I've already asked you to leave if you're not going to help this collab--maybe people aren't joining because of all the people posting negatively on it. Or maybe you're right and the idea stinks--even so, I'd like you to help, or leave. Thanks.

Alright, nobody has joined the collab yet, except one person, who (no offense to him) hasn't made anything good enough for the collab. I have had several people say it's a bad idea for a collab (well, just two or three). I have also had some people say it's a good idea, but can't join because of lack of time or some other reason (eg. Nicholas-Deary, jmtb02, and Cloud109). I was encouraged to push my idea, so that's what I'm doing.

Now, let's see if I can figure the "greyed-out" text here...
