Great. I feel uncomfortable when I have to use a mouse that doesn't have a mouse wheel/middle mouse button. The mouse wheel is a great invention!
I actually remember the days before the mouse wheel even more fondly. Then you had a left, middle, and right button on the 3-button mice that were all consistent in shape and size, usually... and middle clicking was much easier with a "real" button than it is with most wheels, which tend to like to move (either up/down or side-to-side with the wheels that have that function).
I can trust my browser. Opera > all other browsers! :P
But yeah, ctrl-A is the way to go if you want to be REALLY sure... or if triple clicking doesn't work (like in Word, or in notepad).
I think I've told you before that I use Opera, too, man. Browser's got nothing to do with why I rely on ctrl-A instead of triple-clicks. #;-}>
It's very useful for lazy people like me. Default setting is something like "back" in the browser, but I really don't need a mouse button for this. There are enough keyboard shortcuts. Like backspace, or ctrl+"cursor left". But I think the latter only works in Opera.
But I use ctrl+c/x/v as often as I use the mouse buttons, I think. Especially when I copy or cut out files on my PC. I COULD use the mouse buttons for that, but somehow I got used to use the keyboard for those kind of actions, so I stick to it.
Yes, the thumb button on my mouse is set to back by default, as well. But as I think I also mentioned, I have it set to close tabs in Opera/Firefox, with ctrl-W.
Yeah, writing in Notepad prevents you from browser crashes or acidentally closing a tab... but I'm too lazy to open notepad every time I do a multi quote. ^^
I hear that. Still... better safe than sorry!
The 1 key is "previous tab" on your computer? That's freaking weird, man. O_oThe 1 key is "previous tab" in opera, while the 2 key is "next tab". Really helpful.
Whoa. I never noticed that. There's a problem with that, though. If any of your tabs are blank pages (now called Speed Dial), hitting 1 or 2 when you get to that tab just types the numbers into the URL box. #;-}>
Similary, I can't change out of this tab by pressing 1 or 2 (well, obviously).
Because I have a cool mouse! :P
But I'm able to use keyboard shortcuts, too. In fact I use the keyboard as much as the mouse. I use my right hand to do all the mouse stuff like mouse gestures and stuff, and the left hand to do all the keyboard stuff (except for typing. I use both hands for that ^^).
This way I'm able to work with a mouse and with keyboards alike.
See, that's just it... if I'm browsing the web but not typing much, then I'll use my mouse more. But if I'm typing on NG BBS, say, I tend to ONLY use my mouse for:
A) opening a few new topics to read with middle-clicks
B) clicking quote-reply buttons on posts I'm going to reply to
C) selecting the text post area for cutting and pasting
And that's it. Everything else I do with the keyboard. All the alt-tabbing, shift-alt-tabbing, hitting space, down, up, page down, page up, ctrl-W, ctrl-X, ctrl-C, ctrl-V, ctrl-Z, alt-ctrl-Z, alt-left and alt-right... I could go on for awhile with all the navigational and edit shortcuts I use. #;-}>
You should use a Mac. They don't have right click! :P
But they do have a lot of context menues... ^^
But I don't mind right-clicking that much and don't like context menus... so... I'll take a pass.
Alt+F or Alt+E FTW. #;-}>Hmm, ALT+F opens the window options in my browser (F is for "Fenster") and Alt+E opens the E-Mail Options... :P
I like to use "Windows Key + D" to get quickly to the desktop.
You're crazy, man. alt-F and alt-E just pull down the File and Edit menus from the menubar. O_o

WELL, BONUS?!?!?!! TELL THE MAN IF HE'S SHIT OR NOT.No, not as much as he used to be, there are others who are infinitely worse. j00bie and Denvish... d0gma and ShittyKitty....... where have you all gone :(
Gee, I'll bet that makes whoever I was talking about feel SOOOO much better, then, to know there are others infinitely worse. #;-}>
Dogma's been gone a looooooooooong time. ShittyKitty didn't just get too busy for NG, he got too busy for his own site, Retrogade... POOF it went, circa April 2007, IIRC.
Denvish and joobs.... I have no idea. COME BACK, DENJOOBS.
He did say "MOST of" the good users left, Bahamut. Maybe he meant after you got here, and you're one of the few who remained? After all, that's what he was saying about the likes of me, no doubt. :::noddles:::I know you're the most optimistic person according to the internet, but you have to agree that posting in stat threads only and never even controlling your own list or significantly helping out in the small help threads doesn't qualify as being a MEMBER, it qualifies as being a regular, the members that fit THAT description disgust me.
It's not about being optimistic, really. It's about not looking at the negative aspects of things you enjoy. Do you harp (either internally or externally) on the negatives of a girlfriend or... any friend for that matter? Or do you have more fun enjoying the good parts? Unless I'm in a REALLY bad mood, I'm always more the latter than the former.
Similarly, if there are members on Wi/Ht? that you don't agree with the election of because you didn't feel they deserved it, that's fine, but why not focus instead on those you DO think worthy?
Or just not worry about such relatively unimportant status matters, for that matter...
