Not because they 'applied' here, but because they got nominated for the rest of their work. Mods get made because they knew/talked alot with other mods. This place, I think, probably served very little use in the decision making. Possibly a brief glance or so.

i think i would make a pretty good forum mod.

the reason being, i spend alot of time surfing the threads. and i have pretty good insticts on which threads will be deleted or locked. of course i myself have made some dumb mistakes. mostly when i was new. but alot like the new marijuana law: dumb mistakes at an early age shouldnt mess up the rest of your life. ive been here long enough to identify spammers and trolls, and ive been banned for neither. so i hope that this post will help credit me. but i will fully understand if it doesnt.

I would like forum mod. I don't really see myself as a mod though. Being a forum mod would be cool if i was one. I would try very hard not to abuse mah powers if i was a mod.

I would absolutely love to be a review mod.

This is because I am sick of seeing the useless, one line praise or bashing that the common flash artist has to deal with. They provide absolutely no help to the author whatsoever. I believe that the review space should be reserved for more sincere reviews that show what can be improved and what is good about a flash (literally, three good, well thought out sentences can help an author); we are simply not seeing enough of these types of reviews.

It really infuriates me when I see great flash being swarmed by useless, zombified praise that is of no use to the author. Sure, they're top notch, but everyone has an aspect in which they can improve. I also dislike the fact that spam, hateful messages, and chain letters clutter the review space. It's literally turning into a Youtube comment page of sorts.

I am a dedicated reviewer who only reviews when I have helpful advice to give, and expect that Newgrounders should be more sincere in their own. IF I was a review moderator, I would make sure that the review space is finally being used properly.

Review Mod, Audio Mod, Icon Mod, Forum Mod.
Review mod, only type of Mod position I'd ever like to have. since I love my part in the EGB cleaning up the portal, so to speak. The rules are clear, no gray areas. That means if a review is deleted and the reason is given, that person can learn and in turn, go on to make better reviews and influence people to do the same.
Audio mod second, because I've been into the creation/recording/etc of music since the late 90s. I love the recording studio I have access to, through my godfather. He played with Kansas in the past, was a roadie for other big names (Rolling Stones), and also Louisiana LeRoux.
Icon mod before Forum mod because I would not want to be a Forum mod. I'd feel that I would best serve NG as a Review Mod and nothing else.
Finally, a thread where I can think about this and post it and not be off-topic. Or not be in a locked thread, as well.

Forum would be good for me i stay up way late i also HATE SPAM POSTS but that's just me :)

I would want to be a forum mod because I spend most of my life on the forums. (it's sad, really.)
Every day I spend 7 hours on average on the BBS.

Saturday-Sunday
10:00 (EDT) - 12:00 (EDT)

I do other things online while I'm on newgrounds so I'm not that much of a loser ;P
I would do anything I could to help... but nothing sexual.
Also, I've been banned for Backseat Modding at least 15 times.

Icon Mod, I do spend my time making icons in the Icon Makers Club.

If I was a mod, I would be a forum/review mod.

I can accurately tell good posts from bad ones, and I'm pretty fair when it comes to penalizing users.

I'd definately prefer to be Forum mod. I'm sick of seeing songs that are not the submitter's own. I've reported quite a few. Plus I'm active, only to check reviews and scores, but approving tracks would be a bonus I guess. :]

Interesting, I almost posted something like this myself. It'd be kind of cool being a review mod, but it would probably be kind of depressing and arduous. If I had to be a mod, I'd be a review mod, but in all honesty, I wouldn't want to be one. Although forum mods can only be banned by admins, so if I had a Flash question and would normally be banned or whatever... But that wouldn't have anything to do with the wellness of the site. Essentially, nah, I wouldn't be one.

I guess I'd probably just swagger down the General Forum and kick the stuffingness out of whatever breaks the rules. I've never been a mod before, but mostly because I never meet the criteria. Like on this one forum, I thought I'd be a decent mod, but apparently you needed a certain amount of posts. Aside from that complaining, I don't think I'd be too bad, but I'd probably be playing BF Heroes or basketball most of the time :P

I wouldn't mind being any kind of mod really. As far as forum mod would go, I think I would do a fair job. I find myself spending more and more time on the BBS. Most of the time I actually am on I am not posting but reading. I believe this is probably the opposite of the more casual BBS member. I start with the front page and just read all the topics and then continue onto the second and even third page. Reading the entire thread in most cases, or the pages of the thread that are new sense the last time I was on.

I believe I have a good grasp of the rules of the BBS, and try my best not to infringe on them. When I do it is usually due to ignorance instead of a disregard for them. I can then take it as a learning experience and continue on.

The reason I would like to be a mod is because I love Newgrounds. Not just the BBS, or the portals, but also the people who come here. The uniqueness of this place is amazing and you can't help but notice it and appreciate it. I want to contribute in keeping Newgrounds a wonderful place to come, and if I am ever honored enough to be granted a moderator position I would be humbled by the opportunity to help.

I understand that choosing moderators is probably a difficult process and I know there probably aren't going to be any positions open for a while. I just wanted it to be know that if I was to be chosen, I would take the responsibility with great pride and honor, and would try my best to do what I could to help the Newgrounds community. Whether it be in the BBS, reviews, or icons.

Well this seems like an interesting topic, since someone bumped it up to the top of the list, I thought I'd give it a try.

Forum Mod - If anything, I would like to be a forum mod. Why? Because I'm tired of many useless topics with porn in them, or anything in that genre. Since I spend pretty much 90% of the time on the forum looking at funny topics, or useless ones nonetheless, it seems like I would be perfect for the job. If it matters, I'm usually on here for quite some time of the day - that is if there is nothing else I have to do first.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go read the forum rules.

I would most like to be an Audio Mod. Second would have to be an icon mod.

I don't spend much time on the forums, but I do spend several hours a day browsing through the portals. Lately I go on the site from 6:00 to 6:30 AM and from 4:30 to about midnight while doing homework, watching TV, etc.

I'd be a good Audio mod becuase I know a lot about music and about what should and shouldn't be on the portal.

As for Icon mod, I think anyone could do that, so I don't see a reason why I couldn't. Also I'm sick of misleading spam.

Honestly? Being a forum mod would be a bit of blessing, both because I am not at the moment currently very active. I can't honestly say I deserve modship, which is why I haven't been expectant of it. On top of that, looking after the newgrounds forum-goers (Some of them DO need to be looked after) would be a pretty indulging job, and my faith in humanity will probably come into question time and time again.

If I was actually active, I would mostly be on the actual forums between 4:30 and 12:00 PM, respectively, though during breaks from the daily requirements of life I tend to go a teensy bit nocturnal. I (like to think that I) know what constitutes as a good thread, what constitutes as spam, and when a thread attempts to bypass a rule or almost breaks a rule while still technically being allowed, and I will most likely delete it if it's an obvious attempt to.

As a last note, of COURSE I have a secret hoping that I'll get modship. It's been a hope for the longest time, and even though I left NG to do a bit of growing-up, it still remains, as it probably does in most non-mods.

im always spotting the dumb topics that need to be locked before the moderators do anything
(no offense to existing moderators) and sometimes i even tell the moderators what topics need locks or deleted.

If given the chance, I'd like to take a shot as an icon mod.

I'm on usually on weekends, and occasionally on weekdays. Normally for 1 hour or more. I've taken a look at the icons submitted, and many are in queue for approval or disapproval. I've been on this site for probably 3 years, although, on different (all abandoned) accounts, and lurking unregistered. I can probably clear the entire list of icons being queued because I don't actually spend alot of time on posting and reviewing (well, maybe posting, but it's because I have nothing better to do). If you take the time I lurk on the BBS and convert it into me processing icons, you'll probably get good results. I've only submitted 2 icons, but I'm pretty sure I can differentiate acceptable icons from non-acceptable ones.

I don't understand why the fuck people want to be mods, unless you make a difference, all you'll get is fake respect from people who pretend to be your friends, just enjoy the BBS. I prefer to be an innocent bystander, not a policeman.

I am on newgrounds a lot and have a lot of experiance with the people here. yes yes i know i havent made any flashed but my friends have. what im trying to say is that i would make a great mod because I'm in with newgrounds citizens and I would be gratly hornored to be appointed the Moderator status. Also I get to be different. i think this would be a great experiance for me

Why you ask? Because I love Newgrounds.... (not in that why)
I would be a good moderator because I have lots of common sense and pateince.
Common sense for locking inappropriate threads and banning users for the right reasons, and I would have a copy of the terms and look for the one the user vialates. If they don't vialate any rules on the terms of conduct then why ban them????
But taking part in Flamming wars might not be in the terms, but is not aloud in the fourms.
I have lots of pateince so I would be able to read all viloation in the thread or post.
What I lack though is dealing with the screwed up members. I won't tolerate it.
My NewGrounds active time would be around 4:00-7:15 everyday.

1) Forum mod. I use the forums a lot, ( I just started about 2 weeks ago) and I would like to help clean up the forums, because there are a little bit of uncalled for and disgusting things on them that really should not be on them, ( no offence to current mods), but i would llike to help with the forums. ( there are a ton of them, so i guess you guys could use help.)

2) Audio mod. I play in a band as a guitarist, and I say I would be good at working to help the audio portal and people who want to use the songs and tunes posted on there.

3) Review mod. There are many unneeded reviews posted on the flash sections. I would like to help to make the reviews cleaner and more helpful to authors.

4)Graphic mod. I don't consider that I would be amazing at this job, but I do have ann eye for detail and know the regulations and size for the graphics. ( I should know, I've tried like a ten dozen pictures and none of them worked.)

Please give me a chance guys. ( Thanks for puting this up. I have wanted to help Newgrouds for a long time.)
