Newgrounds.com — Everything, By Everyone.

Personally, I hate it. Generic, unwitty, dull, and I'm pretty sure used. The problems of the future, today! Fits the site alot more. Sorry to overreact, but if you change the slogan into something like that, you're bringing newgrounds a baby step closer to the site sellout apocalypse.

I think the new motto is complete garbage.

Do us all a favor and actually THINK before you decide the fate of our site. It sickens me that this, along with your other countless indecencies (that shall remain UNNAMED, TO SAVE YOU THE LAST SHRED OF DIGNITY YOU HAVE) actually pass as appropriate business ethics.

Shame. I thought NG was 'cool'. You do NOT deserve the money you make.

im at least happy that almost no one likes the slogan. it really is sorta [insert homophobic slur here]-y. Everything, By Everyone.... but its not everything and its certainly not by everyone. In fact, probably half the sites users don't have a flash to their name.

Man, that is some great news. The slogan seems kinda... I dunno... awkward. But I still think Newgrounds is going in the right direction. I see you love that font, as it is used in almost every Newgrouds ad I have seen lately... I also have something else to say. The slogan shouldn't be Everything, by Everyone, because that sounds like some sort of tag. I think it should be a little more direct, such as Everything. By Everyone. Period. The 'period' part is just to show you that using that one period where there is a comma makes it sound a whole lot more direct and important.

I have to agree with other Newgrounders, the banner/header is a bit BIG on the vertical side, It should be a little more squashed.

Although I will miss the old newgrounds header and layout, I am glad newgrounds is going up for change (yet again).

Any chance we may be seeing any... chickens in the new layout? ;)

I agree that the old slogan really didn't encompass the direction of the site. But I am just not a fan of the new slogan. It seems just a bit too... ubiquitous. There has to be a better slogan that encompasses the direction of the website but in a more specific way. Everything, by Everyone just seems way too open.

Well, what you get over/under while not thinking with your head but with your... ya whatever Tom was thinking with at the intense moment in the shower, are usually neat stuff.

See when thinking with your head, you get the most thought through decisions made, while thinking with your smaller head, you get the best looking ones. And since this is about the layout, I think Tom made best thinking with his smaller head. ;-)

That was in 2004, too. I think they changed it to the layout they have now in december.

I remember newgrounds when it had a black background and I was messing with that teletubbies flash. Those were the days.

This is very true. Ive seen alot of people be dark just to be cool. There are alot of really good flashes that have been blammed because of all those dark assholes who have never made a movie. To all dark people, a movie doesnt have to have littlefoot graphics to be good to be worthy of newgrounds. The stuff i submitted got blammed for a good reason. It was a one layer stick movie that i made because i was boered. Those things and really crappy submissions should be blammed. But some things are getting blammed because like i said of the animation quality. The fact that people are getting jobs because of newgrounds is a symbol of its succes. The new sloagan is good. Tom, your post really came from the heart. Good job.

No, Tom. Just make it "FUCK YOU". As Dane Cook has said, nothing beats it..once you say FUCK YOU! It's over...there's nothing else to say. Personally whatever you choose I'd like well unless the new slogan was "Vegeton is gay" then I'd be kinda hurt.

The only complaint that I have is the mainstreamization of the site.

First, porn is banned from the bbs,
Then, the influx of commercial flash animations from Sony and the like,
Then, Numa numa,
then the page re-directions on the site (you know, those ones where it says "view this page while the next page is loading")

My opinion on what to do?

Paid accounts. You can be a grounds gold member for free, and view ads. But! If you want to go around this, you can possibly be a premium or something member and get a bunch of added features like no ads and you can submit larger movies and a lot of other benefits on the portal and what-not.

I'm sure plenty of people spend a good amount of time on this site, I personally wouldn't mind paying a small fee every month to get added features on this site that I spend perhaps 3 hours every day lurking around and I'll probably reciprocate more back to the site by doing this than closing annoying pop-up windows.

I do however, think that subscriptions shouldn't be forced and that regular grounds gold members should still get all the things that they currently get, but the premium members get bonuses on top of this .. like more points for depositing, submit more/larger movies to the portal, possibly more secrets in their profile, and whatever.

Maybe I should post this in the NG M2K evolution thread, I don't know. This is just my two cents on where this site should go...

I also think how it's kinda silly how their's banners all over the place literally begging people to be an icon artist, yet.. for some reason, icon's aren't mandatory for submitting movies. So the number of movies w/o icons will stay relatively constant.

This really needs to be addressed before you start asking people to voluntarily submit icons, really.
