darn it was getting tired at the point I checked that list I must made ont little error that the problem when you try to do two lists on the same day. I'll have to go back ans check my data :)

well at least a couple people liked all my hard work.

Don't say that! I, for one, didn't see this update until now and I'm deeply grateful for it! It's what makes living my sad and pathetic life worthwhile! Indeed, without this list, I don't know how I would could possibly live on and it shall always live on as a testament of the amazing and truely awe inspiring capacity that all that humans beings have to perform incredible acts of generosity and whatnot!

In all seriousness, a big thanks for the update, ramagi! The fact you (spontaneously) took the time to this shows just how generous you are with your fellow Newgrounders (it also demonstrates just how underappreciated you are!). Thanks, thanks and thanks again!

Now we just have to wait for BBB / liljim / Ross / Tim / <insert random NG staff member> to stop being so god-damm laz... well, to move their asses and acutally make all this automatic!

Well BBB has real life to deal with, I would never ask anyone to make something like this more important. Esp since I myself deal a lot more with real life these days.
As far as ng staff, they are making lots of progress on lots of things, some people don't even realize how much they have to do right now. There are other things I much rather see working right now than an expantion of the list or even all the current list they have working. I know with time everything will be up and running that is greyed out or not working right now.

I doubt this is important, but I just checked my exp. rank and it showed that I'm the 2000th guy.

I know, I know... I should have added something after my phrase to indicate that this is merely hyperbole, since I know perfectly well that BBB and the NG staff have their hands full right now... And, in any case, they've already contributed much more than anything I've ever done to NG, so who am I to complain?

An absence from mid July to mid August has put serious hurt on my exp rankings. Although I have been depositing every day since I returned to school, my exp rank has been moving like a snail.

It is times like these I wish this list was still active.
Make it so much easier to figure out how much longer till I will be a top 300 user.
I've done it, but still.. it would of been easier.

I'm currently ranked at #2,003 for EXP, so in theory, I should be on this list tomorrow or the day after. That might not be the case, however, as there's been times when I've only moved up 2 places in the space of about 4 or 5 days.

Anyway, I'll be in the top 2,000 soon.

It would only be an issue if the list was ever updated again. The only solace I could really offer would be to do a multiple post version right here, but it would be a) very time consuming and b) only about the top 300-500 users.

If my time constraints change for the better, I'd be happy to take it on, rest assured.

The thing being that school would give me less to worry about time-wise. I work for 40 hours a week, including travel to and from the office. Then I spend about 8 hours a week in the Gym and I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend. It all adds up and when you factor in my 8 hours a day sleep and the majority of Sundays socialising with my friends / practising for the upcoming cricket season, there ain't a fat lot left...

Did you not know that Recon is 40+ years of age, for instance? Not everyone on NG is school-age, man.

Being a top 2,000 Exp User is kind of a big deal. YOU are part of the select few that are able to vote on the best flash games and movies for each month. In doing so, your vote will be thrown into a pool at the end of the month, a user, chosen at random, will have a chance at winning a Prize.

So look out for the vote at the end of each month. :)

People who aren't in the top 2000 can do that, too. Because the top 2000 ACTIVE users (meaning they deposited their Exp at least once this month) can vote on the monthly vote.

Yeah, basically, the top 2,000 people who still come to NG and vote for most of the month count as active for this purpose..

About the top 1,000 they slow down and by the tim you reach the top 500, you're ranking up occasionally. By the top 100, you're ranking up and calling it an achievement in the Level Up! Lounge :P

I have been stuck at just above #300 for a long time.
It doesn't really stop until you only have active users above you which is around top 100?
It is hard to know now that this list isn't active.
Going from top 2000 to 350 was a pretty constant rise.

I hit the top 300 when I got to 13k experience. I've gained a few more ranks over the past 2 months or so. Your ascent to the top 300 shouldn't be too far away.

It doesn't really stop until you only have active users above you which is around top 100?

Well, if the users directly above you are inactive, you pass them quickly. If they are active, you get stuck behind them, because you can only gain experience at two paces - 10 or 0.

Going from top 2000 to 350 was a pretty constant rise.

I think the curve acts exponentially. It will level out, the higher you rise, as there are less users to pass, thus reducing the probablilty that there are inactive users ahead of you.

I have been stuck at just above #300 for a long time.

It's not too surprising that it gets thick and sticky around #300 nowadays.

Back in my day, it didn't get that way until around 250, 200, maybe even 150. I can't remember for sure.

But the site is growing and more and more people are wanting to stay active at the expings. And as those people get into the level 30+ zone, the further down the competition extends. If this keeps up, the entire top 500 may be very difficult to traverse in a good year or so from now.

If people'd deposit daily.... none of us would change rankings at all, though. So just thank your lucky stars there are partial AND complete inactives out there.

It doesn't really stop until you only have active users above you which is around top 100?
It is hard to know now that this list isn't active.
Going from top 2000 to 350 was a pretty constant rise.

It's not like everyone in the top 100 is active either, BTW. There's inactive users in just about every area of the list, even the top 50. Look at what happened to humantarget/shrapnel to let Pimp and Bomb take over.

They happen to be a lot less common in the top 50, though, because unless you go inactive when you're really high above the bulk of the top 50, then you're gonna get kicked out of it. That's how new people, new candidates like say Recon and myself, aim to get into the top 50 in the first place. Gotta wait for the oldies but goodies to lose their grip. And lose it they will, mark my words.

I've seen in 100s of times as I pass by old names on my way up. You don't get to #66 without seeing the bones of defunct legendary users pass below your feet many a dozen of times.

Really/ I'd believe it, but I and in that area too and I haven't experienced anything such as that yet. Myabe it's just around the corner >.>
Speaking of legendary users, I look at the "total" stats on Casualty's NGLog page and I see people I pass or set a goal to passing. I passed Wade along time ago for example. It's a nice way to see stat progress :)
