YES! I got to the top 500 EXP before this update came and I'm very happy. The next goal is to get into the top 400 EXP, but I'm aware it will take me time to get there, so I won't bother concentrating on that right now.

Thanks for the update, ramagi! Finally I am moving into the top 700. Sure it is a long road there towards the top 600, but I will keep on depositing. It should not take more than 5 months, I guess. :P

So close to the top 1,000 and yet so far away. I really hope to enter the top 1,000 at the end of this month (but porbably I will enter them not until next month :( ).

Damn, I'll only get 60 more Exp this month, bringing me to 7,550 Exp. But that's not enough to bring me in the Top 1,000 :( . The guy currently ranked #1,000 has 7,560. Oh noes!

It's a separate list from, though entwined with, the top 2000 list that was auto-updating all the time, every day.

I do miss the top 2k list as well. I keep opening it every night along with NGLog (the two buttons are right next to each other on one of my browser toolbars), but of course it's always still showing the stats on 7/16/07.

That's kinda cool, though. It's neat to see the old level icons and everything. And to remind myself I was #76 in exp less than a month ago, yet now I'm #74 in exp.

That is, some one else could easily start doing the updates from now on, although the sheer (initial) efort would probably mean a reduced list for a while (say, the top 200 or 300)... Still, all a person needs to do is correctly re-index the links and then manually check the experience on each page. I've never done the first (which is likely a somewhat dificult and massive effort), but the second, although time consuming and boring, is perfectly doable and "relativly" easy, provided the first part is done (from my experience). It really comes down to the first part, especially since one can't change user names now.

My choice is to just wait... and see if BBB comes back and tries to fix his top 2000 page.

Because if he did that... then the monthly top 1000 is an easy thing for ramagi or anyone else to take up. It's that lovely top 2000 page that got broken by the redesign that's the real trick....

The top 2000 is based on the 50 recent deposits page, however. And that page is one of the few rankings NOT broken by the redesign.

So I'm sure BBB could fix the site to work with the new page.

It could start pulling new data with the new userpage profile links instead of the old userid# profile links.... and it would of course be easy to just stick in the new 60 level system rather than the 30 level system. And anyway, it's the exp amounts and exp rankings that matter, so...

Poor Pimp, I thought that he would be a level 60 user...he must be one of very a few who do not like the level update.

How exactally would you catalog this? I understand what you are saying, anyone could do that (getting links and associating it with XP)
But what then after that? Put it on a spreadsheets and whack that onto a site?

I ask out of noobness and an intrest to help out. Not to be a smartarse.

Because if that is so, why not everyone do something like 5 people a day and post it onto this forum for someone to combine,. in a while you would have a more... comprehensive list and eventually all the gaps would be filled.
There would/has been alot of movement in the XP and ranks I imagine, so who is to say what about new entrants?

My angle here may be way off, but I am thinking everyone does a little something. (if possible)

Not a bad idea, but you'd still need to find someone to coordinate everything and it's still a big effort (albite, the more people you find, the less effort). Basicly, when I helped out ramagi way back, she gave me a spread sheet with the appropriate links and what had to do was manually click each link and input the new experience of the person at the time.

So, provided the spreadsheet was available, you could manually copy a certain number of users and then pass it on to a volunter who would have to find the new link for each user (which shouldn't be too hard, sine we have their user names) and update the link and their experience.

The problem here is the number of volunters you'd need. Let's say you manage to find 5 volunters to do this. Then, reducing the list to , say 300 people, each person would still have to 60 people each, which, as you can imagine, would require at least an hour to do (assuming a minute to find the new page, correct the link and input the new experience). Even with 10, it's still 30 minutes of work, and even then someone still has to compile everything (which, admitidly, would be relativly quick and simple), so perhaps we should just wait for BBB to fix his program.

However, if you think is viable, try contacting ramagi and see what she thinks (she is, after all, the one who started all this!) or, logicly, BBB himself.

Well, it's not really that difficult - you've got reference tools in the original list, which should mean that the top 1,000 all have the correct name to add the ".newgrounds.com" suffix to get their userpage

Manual is a decent substitution while we wait for something more permanent from someone like BBB, isn't it?

A) He's still #1 in exp.
B) He's still got the same gap over everyone else.

That is the best part of trying to make a top 500 or top 1000 exp list right now, yes. The last update of the top 2000 list from 7/16/07 has all the correct usernames, yes.

I don't have that luxury with trying to restart my pentalist, unfortunately.

However, I did save a copy of the top 2000 after the username lockdown, so I can always use those .html files to help me in my search for users that need to be included on my pentalist. For one thing, I shouldn't be missing any 10,000+ expers, at least.

Posters and blammers and saviours will be another matter. EGRL could help me a bit with the latter two, but it doesn't feature separate listings of blamcount and savecount, alas. Top blammer and saviour lists haven't been updated in a long time. Etc.

No, all in all, the exp situation is the easiest one to solve.

Although I wonder why the admins took out the exp / XTNL display under our postcount and signup date on all BBS pages. I liked being able to see how close people are to leveling up, and where the level gaps are (even though they're static now). Suckage.

And don't say "that's what profiles are for," anyone. The fact of the matter is, that stat was displayed along with postcount for years. You get used to something like that. I wouldn't complain that b/p isn't displayed next to our posts because... (gasp)... it never was. If they put up VP or something instead (something that would encapulsate all of the above....) that would be the best solution, actually!.

you know, you make a damn good point. mainly part D, i mean, the only level up he had gotten recently was when HT slipped up, and he's been 30 ever since. i think that pimp should have the privilege to feel some leveling up on the redesign, too, no? now he can have dreams of one day becomming the God hand of newgrounds, a more realistic dream than any of us will ever have ;)
