One finds hobnobs to be rather disgusting. Their nobbiness is a huge put off for me. You just cant beta the jammy dodger.....or maybe jaffa cakes but one isnt sure if they class as a biscuit.

One does enjou jammy dodgers, but they aren't really good to dunk. One fine shortbread is good for dunking, but if you are against dunking jammy dodgers or maybe even jaffa cakes are best.

Anything topped with some form of chocalet-ish product is tops for me. chocolate hobnobs, custardy creams and bourbons, and all are great for dunking in milk or tea.

There are a great many biscuits which can be used for the dunking into caffinated hot beverages. One would say that the best for this purpose would be the McVities Digestive. I know there is no chocolate topping, but they are so much bigger than any other biscuit and should be given respect for that.

Hobnobs are also good, but one tends to find that the oats goodness has a tendancy to sink to the bottom of one's teacup.

Custard Creams and Bourbons (also, Jammy Dodgers, to a certain extent). No. The creamy filling disintegrates and makes a mess. Better to eat those dry.

Jaffa cakes. The clue is in the name, as they are cake and not biscuit. McVities proved this, as they go hard when stale, as opposed to soft, like biscuits do. This was to save us all money, as chocolate biscuits are charged VAT and cakes are not (another plus point for the digestive).

But, one would not feel this anaysis of biscuits is complete, without mentioning Scotland's finest: Highland Shortbread. An amazing product, which has all the absorbative properties of a hobnob, and the niceness of a jammy dodger. Simple, yet effective.

Your thoughts, chaps.

i fear that you have never actaully tried to dunk those biscuits, i on the other hand eat custard cream with tea and bourbons with milk every day, and the cream just softens, it doesnt disintergrate. in fact, with really good bourbons, the cream doesnt change at all, so you get a wonderful half soft half fard biscuit.

the best dipper and partner, is chocolate digestives with lemonade, perfect.

I think that biscults with filling aren't fit to dunk. Ginger biscults in tea are wizard. The ginger from the biscult adds nice touch to the tea.
Any it doesn't matter. Jeeves will go down the shop and get vast amount of biscults then everyone (Apart from Jeeves, but he doesn't matter) will be happy.

Tally ho chaps! How goes it?

Had to sit my geography exam and as a result I have decided to put out a personal Jihad(or whatever the christian equivalent is) on biogenetic scientists that create GM crops. The bounders gave me an hour and 3/4 exam to do about genetically modified crops and sustainable development.

Anywya onto biscuits. Short breads are nice to dunk but the ultiamte dunking biscuit is indeed the Rich Tea Biscuit.

Fifth Test, Centurion.
Day 5

South Africa 247 & 296-6 dec
England 359 & 73-4

If England were to have any real hope of winning this test, they needed to make the early breakthrough. Overnight, unbeaten on 30, the partnership of Kallis and de Villiers looked capable of doing damage. They did, and the partnership of 227 took with it most of our victory hopes. de Villiers (109) made his maiden test century, deservedly so, having come so close in the first innings. Kallis (136) made up for his lack of form in the first, by playing superbly.

Steve Harmison returned to form, capturing the wickets of the captain, Smith (3) and of Jaques Rudolph (2). Matt Hoggard took the last wicket, dismissing Boucher for 6. South Africa promptly declared, believeing they had the momentum.

England had been set 185 to win from 44 overs. Reachable, but only if risks were taken. Andrew Strauss (0) confirmed that the team were only playing to bat out the day and draw, when he was dismissed inside Ntini's first over. Rob Key (9) fell, leaving us looking shaky on 16-2. Trescothick (7) departed soon after, and we were in dire straits at 20-3. Vaughan (26*) and Thorpe (8)doubled our score, before Thorpe was caught at slip. the score was still not looking much better, at 45-4, but a draw was almost inevitable, by now.

Andrew Flintoff (14*) came in and together with his captain, saw out the rest of the overs. He flies home now, for surgery on his troublesome ankle injury, while the rest of the team stay on for the seven one-day games, over the next few weeks.

Don't worry. The fact of the matter is that Pratchett is 57 this year and you have just turned 16. That is 41 years. In all probability, he will die before you, so you can catch up then. (Sorry, Terry. I had to say it.)

Until then, happy reading!

How long do you think it will be until they start doing films of then? It seems the thing that has to be done at the moment. You take one novel and turn it into a screenplay.

By george that would be swell. But that begs the question who would play rincewind and the rets of the cast? One believes that tony robinson would make a good CMOT Dibbler and maybe Eric Idle as rincewind?

One thinks you have spent too long playing on the Discworld computer game. Since they were the voice actors from that particular game, methinks.

Don't even think about a discworld movie. Mr Pratchett says that he does not think anyone could do it justice in his eyes, so he isn't going to give any film attempt his blessing.

I do beleive your right. Havent played those games in ages maybe if I dig them out again Ill be able to finish the first one.

One still thinks that TOny ORbinson would make a cracking CMOT dibbler and Colin Baker of Doctor who fame would make a good Bursar aswell and maybe Tom baker as the head of the unseen university cant remember the characters name....................dammit. Now I need to re read the books and find out!

Tom Baker should not play Mustrum Ridcully, Archchancellot of UU. It should be one man, who is big enough, loud enough and funny enough to carry off the role

BRIAN BLESSED!

I prefered Soul Music, because there are songs in it, so you can sing along. (Maybe it's just me though.)

The whole 'Soul Music' thing works so well, because of the way most of the jokes are visual and things like that. I would never have pictured Colon and Nobby like they are in the cartoon, and it doesn't affect how I view them when I read.

Plus I didn't get the whole 'Live fats die yognu' joke until I read it for the third time late last year. (It was supposed to say live fast, die young, but the Dean kept turning his jacket about, so it went wrong... sort of.)

The trouble is with the discworld novels being made into set of films is there are so many of them. Open riots would start between Discworld and Harry Potter fans.
Then again this could be rather amusing to watch and might even be better than the film itself.

I fail to see why there would be riots between pooter fans and discworld fans. The only thing they have in common is place where wizards train......or am I missing osmething obvious?

Bloody french! Had my french Oral exam today and I screwed it up........well Im off to rekindle the hatred between the french and British. Anyone coming with me or will it just be me and simmons storming calais?

I am ever so sorry I haven't posted in a while, I have been off on an expedition in China to find the lost Ducky of PeKingania. What an incredible journey, I mean there was so much tea to try, but give me a good old jug of the plain stuff and I'll be happy. Anyway, what happened in the end was that it was just an order for a Chinese resteraunt so we all had to pack off home. But what a week it has been for me. Anyway, what is going on with all your lives? I'll let Jeeves get the tea.
