This is quite funny. Go back to playing Call of Duty, kid. ;)

Says the person who is defending GTA! They're on the same calibur. Both appeal to children like yourself. And isn't it past your bedtime?

Look, maybe we got off on the wrong foot, but if you private message me I can show you some actual GOOD games. And soon enough, you will realize how the games you once liked are actually really bad. Trust me, you will be VERY relieved.

Master is just angry because his parents don't let him play Grand Theft Auto.

I know I shouldn't be talking about it because in a sense that means he's being successful. But this Master guy is just going around all the official threads for games and trying to start flame wars, so it'd be best if we all ignore him and let him starve on his own. Luckily it seems you guys haven't really fallen for it in here though, which is good.

Anyway back on topic, any ideas on what you guys think the story behind the character(s) you play as will be? I'm hoping it isn't the same kind of thing with Niko Bellic, though it was kind of cool to start with nothing and make your way up all on your own.

This is a comparison between GTA III, SA, and other game worlds. Just imagine if GTA V would be bigger than Just Cause 2, or even Daggerfall, at a whopping 70,000 square miles!

Actually the size of the Just Cause 2 world is overratted, because so much of it is copy and pasted it gets repetitive. Because of how easy it was to get around it felt rather small while say FO3 felt bigger since you moved alot slower and were restricted to a small viewpoint.

That wasn't my point, my point is that these people haven't even said anything about the actual game and everyone is wetting themselves over it. That's being a sheep, it's what corporations love since that means another pre-order no matter what the developers do (well within reason of course) .

That's not just being a fan, that's being a fan to the point of being a sheep. They could have a rape mechanic in the game and you'd still be excited over it and defend against any criticism it gets.

I really hope it's a brand new location. London might be fun, but we might not get Lazlow on the radio.
Still, I doubt it will be set outside America...

I have to agree really. I mean if they were only going to pick one of the three cities from San Andreas they might at least have went with Las Venturas. I'm sure they could have spiced it up a bit and put the strip to use. Los Santos was just a bit... boring. Plus I associate it with black gangs now and that's not something I want to re-visit.

If this is true and its set in modern times, a lot probably would have changed since 1992. I'd rather have the whole of San Andreas though rather than just one city.

Someone give me the source saying it's in Los Santos. Again, the ONLY information we know until tomorrow is that it's called GTA V. Why the hell would they set it in JUST Los Santos when San Andreas, which was released in 2004, encompassed the entire state of San Andreas? Just doesn't make any sense to me.

I wasn't suggesting that I know it's set in Los Santos. I was just declaring my objection to that.

Why did they give us just Liberty City in GTA IV when we previously were given a whole 'state' in San Andreas? GTA San Andreas has nowhere near the same level of detail that was in GTA: IV. Size was sacrificed for detail. I am hoping to see something larger than Liberty City in the upcoming title though. Hopefully Rockstar have taken into account that a lot of people seen GTA IV as taking a step back rather than a step forward. Sure, it was a good game and all, but when I first played San Andreas the game felt way more impressive than my first time playing GTA: IV.

Just went to the website and the countdown said 35 seconds, but when it got to 0 it decided there were 34 minutes left. I think I might stay up for that or just watch it at college tomorrow where I wont have to wait for it to buffer.

Either way, still quite excited. And to be honest I'm not entirely fussed where it takes place because it'll most likely still be a good quality game that I'll enjoy. Though if I could pick anywhere it'd have to be London just so I could see how much it is like it is in real life. Though chances are it wont be because nobody in America would understand whatever the "gangsters" (or chavs) were saying. That and Noel Clarke would do the Voice Acting for every male character.

Still, looking forward to it.

So the 35 minute countdown just ended then decided to go up to 15 hours.

I think I'm going to bed.

Maybe they should try a city they have never been to before instead of re-using the same three cities over and over again. Maybe LA or the Capitol. Or maybe a southern city such as Atlanta.

@Narcissy, and MiroDK

Don't get me wrong I loved GTAIV, but I know for a fact that it would of been better if it wasn't ultra-realalistic. Don't even let me get started about it's missing features from San Andreas.

Yeah, I can see where you're getting at, hopefully they'll make the game a bit more crazy but not so much that it ends up being like SR.

It's LIVE!
http://www.rockstargames.com/

Things I got from it:
Takes place in at least Las Santos.

Planes (crop duster)
Golf Course
Mountains
That guy who said the trailer would be 1:04 and the main character's name was Adrian and he dies was TOTALLY LYING.
Vinewood still exists
When the narrator say "all the other dads" a guy who looks like Bill Cosby walks up.
New assault rifle with silencer
Protagonist seems like a white American with black hair who was involved in crime previously.
Rock music.
A guy forclosing his house.
Hookers.
JETS!

The trailer is amazing, but revealed nearly NOTHING storywise (like gta 4).

San Andreas FTW! I can't believe they are bringing back jet planes! You guys think it'll just be Los Santos or the whole state? At least they'll include the surrounding countryside it seems so that's a HUUUUUGE improvement over liberty city seeing as that had hardly any variety in its locations.

I just want them to remake grove street as an easter egg or something. Maybe go to CJ's house and fight the ghost of his mom or something.

My bet is that it will be just Los Santos with some surrounding countryside. As much as I'd love to see the whole of San Andreas be recreated, the trailer made it seem like they've focused on making one 'realistic' and detailed city as oppose to the whole 'state' that we got with San Andreas.

If they can pool in elements from San Andreas and Red Dead Redemption, while keeping anything GTA4 related to the bare minimum, then thistle be the best GTA yet.
