The show is too complicated to explain coherently in a BBS post so I'll just say this: This is a show in a fantasy setting containing Blood and gore, drama, fighting scenes, great acting, compelling characters and best of all, plenty of boobies. (Yay HBO)

Its a brand new show on season one. Its 4 episodes in so start watching, its not too late to catch up. It comes on Sunday at 9pm on HBO

So watch it if you don't already, it kicks ass.

My dad likes stuff like this. So if we had HBO I would probably watch it.
He will probably just wait till its on DVD and buy it or rent it then and watch it. It looks good though. I usually don't like movies and shows from that period though.

I only watched one episode, but I didn't like it.

The story was cliche medieval fantasy bullshit that has been done a million times before, the characters are unforgettable and bland (with the exception of maybe the royal dwarf, who is only memorable because he's a dwarf who has orgies with a ton of normal sized chicks), and nothing about it impresses me.

So no, I don't like it. I heard the books are good but judging from the show, it's the same old shit. I've seen dungeon and dragon campaigns more original than this.

He absolutely does. During the first episode he seemed like such a gag character, you know, first appearing as a midget in a bed with a girl but man he's really brought a lot to the role.

The books are relatively new, I believe they were just published in the mid 90s or so.

It's been decent, but not great, TV so far.

I heard good things from alot of people so I tried to watch the first episode, I liked the first ten or fifteen minutes but I gave up about halfway through. Sword and sorcery just isn't my cup of tea.

First episode was cool, then it just got increasingly boring from there.

Tyrion is a beast. I ordered the books from my library right after I saw the first episode. Its pretty awesome so far.

To those who said they don't like it because it's medieval/fantasy, I daresay you weren't really paying attention. The show isn't about sword battles, magic spells, or the power of friendship; it's about cold, hard politics. And that (in my opinion) is what sets it apart and makes it a great show.

This is my kind of show. I've watched Rome and The Pillars of the Earth, and I plan on watching this once it's completed one season.

This show is fucking awesome man, anyone who isn't watching it SHOULD be.

I read the book, which was the bomb, and heard great things about the show so I plan to buy the DVDs since one show doesn't justify getting HBO.

Looks quite interesting, but sadly the episodes are not available for countries outside the USA on the official website.
