It isn't bad but my god what is going on in the background? Its so dirty and distorted, would be so much better if it was cleaned up.

actually, Sound Check (Gravity) is a cover of a Gorillaz track.

So, they're all actually remixes.

07/28/2010

#1

#2

#3

#4

#5

I see some known names in there.

#1 sounds pretty rad to me, not sure I'm too much of a fan of that kind of 'swing' beat though.
#2 is just normal, as F-777 get top 5 every time he submits something. Track sounds pretty messy here and there, and the structure, as he mentions, is a bit... odd.
#3 sounds very generic and badly mixed to me... and by badly mixed I mean terribly mixed. It's the complete typical NG techno/trance song. =/
#4 xKore rocks my socks, even though I've heard better from him.
#5 Why, a video game remix. This one sounds rather well done though.

All in all I think #3 is the least deserving.

DJ-N deserves itx] well I've always liked his music a lot.
I can't recall hearing anything from Axe.

Some 14 year old and his friends have copy and pasted their reviews and left their abusive copypasta reviews on 30 of my latest songs and sent me very long pm's. : /

Ska, punk, blues, casa genres lol. Check the Audio forum. Most 0'ing occurs in the misc section and other big ones like trance/ambient.

Cuzone, you big cheater. I hate people who put their songs under 'rare' genres so they have a bigger chance of being in the top 5.

I seriously doubt just downloading or using a run-of-the-mill proxy would actually work as well as you think they do. The proxy's still collect your information and ultimately link back to the source, not to mention several websites block them (not sure if NG's one). If the process was that easy, there would be more abuse...as if there could be anymore, heh...And as much as I dislike to hear those tracks on the top 5, there is no legitimate proof that he did anything to cheat (besides putting them in the incorrect genre) so how exactly is it obvious? Perhaps he just sent his track to several friends and asked them to vote (NOT to just vote 5), and there's nothing wrong with that.

Nope, no proxy used, all songs were featured with something about 30 to 40 votes, what is basically what most songs get without being featured or in games.

Cheating? Hardly.
NewGrounds top-5 isn't category based. By putting the song in a low-profile category Timraband just slipped away the zero-bombers.

By the way, as confusing as this may sound, this account is used by two dudes and i'm not the author of any of the featured songs, they are all by my friend timraband... Who shares the account with me. And i'm not defending him, BTW, I have no stake at hand here since anyone who follows our work, knows that I'm not so ative around here anymore.

Now, as far as "changing the voting system" goes, i'm all for it, but honestly? Its not happening. Try to create a topic either complaining about someone REALLY cheating (like 10 songs in the top-10 of a category and the whole category with scores like 4.13) or giving an input about how you would change the voting system, this is what will happen:
- Some users says that you shouldn't be pointing fingers and ask that YOU should be banned
- Some users says that you're butthurt and should live with it.
- Some users tell you to learn to live with it
- Some users will link to some 1000+ posts thread that nobody bothers to read
- A mod will close or delete your topic.

Why Timraband changed the categories? simple... Wake up one day with a great tune in your head, keep a whole month working on it, post it on newgrounds under the Pop category. Look at all the nice reviews and good scores on the first days... and just some hours before the top-5 and top-30 are updated, watch your song get REALLY zero bombed, with enough zeros to make sure it will never be seen again.

So no, Timraband is no cheater. He just did something simple to protect the songs and it worked. If you think any other song deserved the top-5 other than his, then blame the zero-bombers who simply destroyed said song score.

Eating Mentos drives you mental.

Whatever most people probably work around the system based on the music I hear in top 30 all the time, but it's a new week. I for one think the songs this week show a lot more promise, although I am not a fan of little 50 second loops/WIP's getting top, but at least the piece is relatively well produced.
