It's really lame the way some people feel compelled to 0 everything with a higher score than their own entry just to get a weekly feat.

1. Oh God, so much cheesy squeaky stuff going on here. I dun like.
2. Funny tune :P, I feel as if I am on a ship, sailing though the ocean.
3. Weird tune for me, not that creepy enough for Halloween.
4. Repeatative as hell.
5. Same as #4.

Gotta' agree with you there man.

1: I've always loved pieces like this so I'm glad it got the top spot. Absolutely stunning imo.
2: Hurt my ears.
3: Actually made me laugh a bit. Produced nicely too.
4: This has a lot of melodic value, decent production too even though I found the drums a little weak. Durn's style is progressing nicely, I'd say he'll be making some pretty nice stuff in the months to come.
5: Great track to chill out to. Always loved my ambient stuffs so I'm glad this made the top 5 aswell.

Congrats guys.

are you serious about the no.1?

its extremely boring if you ask me, sure it sounds good because the instrumentation's quality is good but as a composition its worthless.

you clearly haven't listened to it with your subwoofer cranked up. Those sub rattling frequencies are nuts!

I never listen to music with 'my subwoofer cranked up'
To me a subwoofer isnt for classical music but..that horrid thing called dance/club/trance/house/rap/whatever its called thats played in a basement. That wouldnt be music but monkey-rythm, like how monkeys poke sticks in holes for ants or something, music is supposed to be taking you on a stroll, i really dont get how people can drink coffee, energy drinks and then even snort coke sometimes on top, then stand in a small space with 30 more people all mental out of the mind and listen to lownoise and rumbling on repeat.

Seriously, there does not any worse kind of unhealthy behavior.

Appart from all that..
Its still orchestral, and a boring one..

Appart from that..
No form of classical should need a subwoofer.. true classical is the power of low volume.

My thoughts exactly.
Also, a subwoofer can also be used for classical music, because you know, there are instruments that play in the bass range. A subwoofer is merely for pumping out those lowest frequencies regular speakers can't give you.

I like it when music takes full advantage of the whole audible spectrum.

Yay, first Top 5 I ever got. It's not one of my best songs, by far, but heck, I guess putting songs under Latin really does work.

Undeserved; as if the flash doesn't get enough recognition as it is--but obviously, everyone will 5 a little piece of funny vulgar audio if it was funny in the flash. Even if the production is rather mediocre.

#2
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 79189

Woo, our own SuperSteph :) Very nicely put together, especially for a first try at the genre, as far as I can tell. This deserves to be on here.

#3
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 78449

Ooh, ambient. Very minimal sounding, in a pretty good way. I'd like some more chords shining through to give it some more character, but that may just be me. Liking the delaying percussion as well.

#4
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 78533

Jazza; this should be good. Oh hey it is! Acoustic guitar and vocals, and a lick of drums. I like the progression of the piece and all, no complaints at all.

#5
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/3 79238

Generic nexus trancepop with a rather bad structure, I'm not quite impressed.

All in all, I think it's a good top 5, except for #1 and #5, which could easily be swapped by something else.

Finally 276 Days, 117 Bars, 26 Samples, 9 Synths, and 5 Automations later its finished.

I'd be embarrassed if it took me 276 days to write that.

I'm betting that it's just been that long since his last finished song or something; it's obvious he didn't really work on it that long.

On another note, congrats to Chronamut getting #2 in the top 30!
