Are sketches allowed? If so, what would they be considered as?
Read ZE OP, mate:
"Illustration - Here is a Wikipedia article explaining it."
The first thing the illustration article on wiki that he linked us to right there explains is that illustration is more about subject than form. A sketch is more about subject than form, therefore it is an illustration, not fine art or other. Bah-BAM.

I like the ratings. I always felt that Nene was left out, but now she has a place.
Who will be in the Lit portal though?
LIT-BOT, I hope. The baddest bot this side of the Pecos.

Heres hoping it doesn't getr overrun with shit. Some people have already told me to draw something and submit but I refuse as I can't draw and it'd just be cuasing spam. I hope others follow suit.
If you can't draw, just leave it to the ones with talent. It's nice just to view anyway.
First day up, and it already has a much higher good:bad ratio than Retrogade's photoshop portal ever did, so... worry not.
Go ahead and draw, just take your time. Spend a month making a perfect pic and slap it in your profile. Why not? I might even give it a go, and I suck. But I got my babe a tablet for X-mas a couple years ago, and I doodle with it myself every now and again. TIME TO PRACTICE.

Great, now we're deviantart? Or maybe sheezyart...nevertheless, Newgrounds is more that this, it's bigger than some furry drawings and middle fingers. How is this art compared to animation and music?
You just said NG is more than this and then you act like the Art Portal's existence means the rest of NG is gone. NG IS more than just that. It's flash movies, flash games, music, visual art, AND a BBS. And yet you complain. (sigh)
Anyway, it's more that NG has now absorbed the one thing RG always had that wasn't a NG rip-off... THE ASSIMILATION IS COMPLETE. And it only took 2 years after Retrogade died. ;_;

Awesome, another thing I can fail at!
Thanks Staff!
MTE whenever a new portal concept is announced. But rest assured that art needs consumers just as much as it needs producers. What is a book without someone to read it? What is a picture without someone to see it? So... rather than fail at producing just... enjoy the consumption!
