This is a challenge issued to all heavy metal audio artists. The rules are simple...

1. Must be under 1:00 (its just a breakdown not a whole song)

2. must be a heavy metal breakdown. (for those not familiar its the part in a song where everybody wants to punch each other in the face.)

3. I am issuing this challenge for 1-07-09 to 1-17-09

4. must lable the song as ( CMBC ) before the song title

5. have fun with it

Just post ur submission link in this forum and make sure to send me XxCowmeatxX a pm with ur submission link so i can keep track. Me and 2 other guest musicians will judge all the submissions and there will be a prize for the winner and runner up.

1st place: gets all there songs reviewd, 10d, and 5d by me and 4 or 5 of my friends.
2nd place: gets a song of there choice revied 10d, and 5d by me and 4 or 5 of my friends.

I think there's no such thing as musical sections specific to a single genre, really. Even jazz could have a half-time metalish sounding breakdown if it wanted to.

I guess the term 'breakdown' evolved from Metalcore, but nevertheless, there have always been breakdowns in metal.

It's Hardcore Punk with Metal influences.

I don't see the huge seperation with all of the genres with "core" at the end. It's just bands trying to be unique. The little things that differs from these genres are a little ridiculous to be considered completely different things from each other.

True. There are bands where two songs are more different than these genres. I don't even know exactly what metalcore is, much less grindcore, deathcore etc.

I don't really care about the differences, as long as it sounds good in my ears. I guess the lyrics also play an important role in the subgenres.

Lol, seems like any post with metal in it always has a argument about genres. Quit worrying bout it bros, just listen and enjoy. When you can stop listening to things by genres and labels, you start realizing the point of music more and you'll be far more inspired.
