Reviews for "The Guardian"

there's not much in terms of game play; it drags . it's two "terrains", if you can even call it that. the "game" is just jumping back and forth through the same "terrains".
the story is predictable. you know what's going happen to haruka. the atmosphere was fine but work on making a game with some substance in terms of story and game play.

made it a bit more interesting for myself by giving haruka a back story ... you know, outcast from a ninja village and all. plus, haruka looks like the dead pixel on my laptop.

GAMEPLAY: Perform this arduous task. Now perform another. Now perform the first one again. Now the second one. Now here's some "story."

"STORY": See "Iron Giant," "Frankenstein," and several, several more times it's been done before. Add typos.

LESSON: "People r afraid of what they don't understand!"

Stopped playing after following the villager home. Knew exactly where this was going, didn't feel like playing the same level AGAIN to see it.

HIRE. WRITERS.

They sit around all day with nothing to do and they work cheap, there's no excuse for this.

its a creepy game for the first time... but gets reppetitive also i went trough credits but no medals... so interesting game but too much backstracking and repeating!

It is as if someone made a game that out of the mundane happenings that occur between major scenes in a movie. In The Guardian, one finds themselves walking long distances over a dull, lifeless terrain to watch underwhelming cutscenese in which most of the action is explained, not shown. The repetitive nature of the gameplay and underwhelming story leave much to be desired.

The artist gets points for creating a dreary, simplistic atmosphere which sets a unique tone to the game. The artist might better serve her audience by parterning with someone who can add content to the gameplay and the narative. Once this is accomplished, the dormant artistry evident in this game can become more fleshed out.
