Reviews for "MOON"

Story was good , pixel art was good despite the shitty walk animation, controls were way to simple and the walking was repetitive at, the last part where u keep walking by the light poles i thought the game had glitched u had the same screen show 5 times!!!!! Disappointing, go write a book or something.....

This game, for me, is very fascinating. I would first like to say that I saw a couple of the movie inspirations you have mentioned. From that, I think you have done a good job generating an original thriller plot of your own.

Let's start with the positives. The plot was one of the most interesting I have seen. It was also enhanced by that little scene at the end. It was truly a cliffhanger. *SPOILER* I wonder what realizations John made? Your game here is quite a cinematic one. The Pixel-art is also well-used considering Pixel-art is usually used in kiddie arcade games, wherein here, it is used to convey a grim tale. It is also a great way to get medals. Hehe. I'd like you to concentrate on the positives more and improve on these. You did well in keeping your overall atmosphere consistent with your theme.

Next will be some of the negatives. I hope you won't dwell to much on these and I hope you let them serve as guides for improvement. First off, the game was quite short. It also lacks the element of exploration and always leads the player to where to go next. The walking speed is a bit slow, but I guess that adds to the suspense. You could've added a short prologue. In the real world, there is not only a single astronaut who goes out on his mission. There is a team. Well, I know it's a bit overused. You might want to think of a completely original plot rather than making things slightly similar to classic terror films. You may also want to consider making a game with a non-linear plot. So, the player will be given choices which, in the long run, can kill or save the protagonist.

Basically, I liked your game but there are still some things that could make it more dynamic. 4 stars.

Story: Good
Execution: Not so good

This game has an overall feel of 'you tried too hard'. Needless to say that the controls were a little messed up as, really, you don't even need the mouse- just the spacebar and arrow keys. And the art really shouldn't have been mouse only as it looks as though a child drew it (Unless you ARE a child....) which dragged the quality of the game down. The sounds used were pretty good but the game is too dragged out, and for someone with a small attention span, like me- I got bored very quickly.

Just take more time in the execution and the game would be great.

This game had some great "WTF" moments, great sound, and it was interesting. I also enjoy the pixel art. It looks and sounds very nice!

However, It feels very much like it is an art game for the sake of being an art game. You made the argument in previous reviews about that it's an art game so it plays more like a movie. What? Game is still in the title. I'm not saying it needs platforming or a point system, but it does need something that makes the player feel like they are affecting the story instead of moving a character through the motions.

I'm also not able to input the password. Not because I have no idea what it is (I don't), but because it never asks me. I've played through 4 times and have not seen it. Am I doing something wrong?

You seem like a nice guy, so I would love to see you get better in the future!

I'd try to find some redeeming qualities, but I really can't. The art is absolutely horrible, the sounds uninspired and the game play is boring. I get that it's supposed to be creepy, but I don't FEEL it.
