Reviews for "MOON"

Is this based on Moonbase ALpha?xD

For players: playing the game twice gets different endings, but you can't tell until the end of Day 3

Now then:
"Press 'E' to go back to main menu"

I'm not sure what was supposed to happen there, but the result was infuriating. I was already ticked off at this game before that, and resetting due to unclear or misleading instructions is a good gateway to ragequits. The only reason I managed to find the different ending was because I was replaying to find more things to yell at the author about. Even so, the story is unsatisfying.

The art was the only thing remotely good about this game, and it's only technically so. It isn't pretty, startling, realistic, or anything. It's just detailed within a self-imposed limitation. It only sets the scene. The walk animation is terrible, which is a crime of sloth when the entire game IS walking. For Pete's sake, he's ON THE MOON, he should be MOONWALKING, not shuffling around like a geriatric robot.
Not being able to go in any direction but forward destroyed the possibilities of this game, and led to huge plotholes. Why go out when the computer tells you to stay inside? Why go right back out when you just called for help and are just waiting to be picked up? Why head straight towards the thing that is clearly the embodiment of insanity?
Speaking of which, this man has the most boring delusions. It's just "random artifact or dead astronaut appears" or "walk down an imaginary corridor." There's no real shock value, especially with the pixel art.
The only elements of this game are apparitions, walking, and pixel art, and all three are found wanting.

This story makes no sense and it is no game. It's not a mix of a game and a movie as a game, it's just a movie styled as an art game.

DON'T READ THE 3RD ACHIEVEMENT IT'S A SPOILER!!!!!!!!!!!!

I see where you were going with this, but it's really not much of a game. It's more a visual novel. But even on that merit - well, the story feels incomplete. I don't mean there needs to be a resolution - I mean that the story never builds to anything. John is on the moon and sees demonic visions - and that never changes. It doesn't go anywhere, just circles around that central idea.

I'm not looking for closure - I'm a big believer in the idea that horror loses its impact once you explain or reveal it. I can accept that I'll never get an explanation for what happens to John. But what happens on Day 1 is thematically the same as Day 3 - he just sees weird stuff. A story needs dynamism - this feels like a holding pattern.
