If you were going for the sensless mayhem that is war you hit the nail right on the head.
This game randomly kills you and survival is, to some extent, dumb luck.

Best thing I found was to hug the far right of the screen - this way mortars and enemy soldiers never hit. All that was left was to avoid barbed wire and the MGs -- but as long as I had a shield enemy, which was fairly easy to keep up --- if I ever got hit I just had to be careful until I found another enemy to shield with.
not a fan of the game, but i also really really sucked at it.
the mortars break the game, if you want to keep them in i'd suggest giving them a shadow or crosshairs so the player can tell where they will be and has a chance to avoid them
The mortars are completely random and op. At one point, I had 8 mortars land next to, or on my dead body. I liked that you could pick up human shields, but they should have lasted for two hits, since the Mg42, and the soldiers got to be a problem. A good game otherwise.
