Great idea, great execution.

It's a fairly novel idea, using enemy ships against themselves while maintaining your own life bar. The difficulty is spot on, making it just hard enough to be challenging, yet the gameplay is very fair and forgiving of mistakes. The geometry-based collision detection was noticed AND very welcome, as it allowed me to pilot the tiny ships through tiny gaps (ala shmups) when I needed some recovery time, though I preferred the standard ship for its durability. But perhaps the best part of the game was infecting the shielded gunship. It has a wicked lifebar and offensive power, but is offset by its size, slowness, and low RoF. The most fun I had in the game was nervously keeping my gunship alive, silently cheering when a bullet grazed just over the front curve without colliding. It truly felt like a real shmup game compared to the others I've played on Newgrounds.

This is one of the best ideas I found in these days.
A simply game with HUGE potential.
This game can be improved with a longer stories, an evolution or growth of virus' power and ability with an experience-based system, more enemies, more abilities, more attack type.
Adding some features can make this game one of the best flash horizontal shooter.

Great game, but short

most shooters simply give you an overpowered ship with which you can wreck thousands of others...I love the break from this iron rule by introducing an AI "infection" to take control over enemy ships. It really adds a bit more strategy to a type of game that normally doesn't require much thought. Too bad that it's so short. More stages and another couple of ships and it would have been really awesome.
Btw...the "sense of speed", as you called it was well executed, and the graphics were cool

Nice idea

A few things i wold want to see in the 2nd part ^^
- evolution of the virus - experience system
skills - augment weapon systems (superior mind right ? ^^)
- scrap other ships for repairs
- scrap internal " human confort " things to augment ship armor
- comunication link ... link to other ships to activate remotely self distruct
ships - auto fire turret ( the missle ship realy needs one ^^ )
- more diverse weapons ( mines,chain guns )
- regenerating shields

Heh ... i'l stop now ^^ Good game by the way :)
