Reviews for "The Orphan: Part 1"

nice

Ambiance is somthing that alot of animators never really really concived all too well. For the most part all the crap on newgrounds is carbon copys of mario parodys and anime but this is neat stuff. The music was very flat at the begining perhaps running in a 1 channel mono layer idk but it didnt sound all too well the second track was great though and added alot to the isolated feeling. Pretty neat concept although still an enigma to me. This flash actually reminds me of the secret windows to a minor extent i suppose because of the look of the protagonist. You should work on the voiceovers because it sounded terrible. Would really like to see where this thing goes it certainly has alot of headroom to become the first new thing on newgrounds I hope your animation goes well because you have a real gem here

Good but 1 problem

The voice acting sucked, it sounded really fake. The rest was good, it's left me with suspense.

Lovecraftian.

The voice needs work. He sounds like Keanu Reeves with laryngitis (sp?). Otherwise, it looks good.

i enjoyed it it

it was an okay animation it didnt love it but it was far better than other things on the site voice acting was bad and that was probably my biggest complaint

New

I enjoyed the new style of animation you've used compared to what's usually on Newgrounds.

Although I think the part where it shows the trees again is unnecessary. I also find the voice acting not so good, it sounds too faked out. For realism I think staying up too long can achieve that voice, or waking up too early. I think a normal voice would be fine though.

I liked the flash but something about it didn't grab at my attention. A suggestion is to add a flashback scene, like something that happened in between the Father and son. I'm not sure, but I look forward to part 2.
