Alcohol related car-crashes outnumber Marijuana ones at least 10 to 1, and yet there is hardly a mention that *gasp* the legalized drugs could be more deadly than the so called "gateway" illegal drugs.
The only way to win the war on drugs is to pretend we won, ensure that mainstream drug manufacturers clearly label their products, and regulate them as we do alcohol.

You didn't metion how they were drinking, pot is probably bad for your lungs but it doesn't impair your judgement. If it did then I and all of Las Vegas would have died in car crashes.
If you read any information about the side-effects of marijuana, it is well known that marijuana impairs your judgement to quick reponses, especially at high speeds.
