Wow intense
I love the style here of story and text style elements but you also added some visuals and that was a plus the music really sets the tone for this too making for some nice moments, so for me I enjoyed this text based type of game

UPDATE: Apologies for the unpublishing. I did a bug fix after a bug report, but my fix ended up creating a greater, game-breaking bug. I have now fixed it and the game is up again.
On a mission to save Planet Earth, you must travel to the Underworld, where you will fight monsters, level up, and get better equipment as your true identity slowly reveals itself.
This game itself is pretty much a prototype. It's a sort-of first episode, but the combat functions are very simplistic, and I used public domain pictures and sounds from the Internet to make it. If people like it, I'll create a second instalment with better puzzles, a more elaborate combat system, an inventory, better music and art, and so on!
Fun fact: If you gain and lose HP in rapid succession, you can produce a nifty colour-mixing effect.
Tip:
-IMPORTANT!!! If you have any problems with the directions, the general order of the buttons is as follows: If you want to PROCEED, press the first direction button after every fight. If you want to RETREAT, press the last button. That's it! ^^
-If you can't deal with the ghosts, there might be someone you forgot to visit.
-In the City of Wrongful Deaths, never forget that fleeing is easy! You can flee from hard battles to reach shops.
-Grinding in the City of Wrongful Deaths is not hard. You just need to be familiar with the geography of the city and the strengths and weaknesses of the ghosts. (Alternatively, you can just move on to the next street each time you level up.)
-Cultivate qi is a very very important part of the game! Don't forget it! Attacking blindly is a one-way ticket to the Game Over screen.
-PLEASE click on the bold text! I spent a lot of time on those and would like you to enjoy it.

Medals seem to be not working anymore. Otherwise I like it.
Great game played it years ago and am replaying it now. I think the newgrounds medals might be broken though, but it could just be me.
ZZzzzzZZZZzzzz sorry i feel asleep this game so not fun and the music just make me want to just ZZZZZZZzzzZZZZZZZ.. oh sleep
Story draws you in(if you actually pay attention to it). Interesting little side quests, though it would be better if they were harder to figure out(you have everything set up so that it is VERY linear, not a bad thing, but some people like to have a bit more of a thinking challenge). Great game, waiting for episode 2.
Thanks for the review man! :)
