ReNaeNae has announced the winners of the NG calendar contest! These works of art will be featured in an the official Newgrounds 2009 calendar, available in the not-too-distant future!
I am back from Japan, where we showcased Castle Crashers at the Tokyo Game Show! We spent a week in Chiba for the convention, followed by a week in downtown Tokyo, where we stayed in Shinjuku but travelled to places like Shibuya, Harajuku, Akihabra, Roppongi, Ginza, Tsukiji and Mitaka. The Ghibli Museum and Tsukiji fish market (with fresh sushi) were two highlights, as were the fan art, papercraft and cookies that were brought to our booth. We also hit up Tokyo Disney. The biggest disappointment was the lack of robots at the Sony store in Ginza.
Dan Paladin has posted some of the latest Castle Crashers fan works on the Behemoth devblog, including these slick CC Teddy Troops! If those inspire you, don't forget that Luis has been running a Teddy Troop Contest, like his Munny Competition from last year.
RubberNinja has important news about the increasing likelyhood of web censorship in Australia. Check it out, it's pretty disturbing. Newgrounds is already blocked in China; we can't lose another country, especially the home of Adam Phillips!
Gary of Numa Numa fame has announced his new music CD. Go snag a copy! And if you haven't seen it:

Rocco from Mega64 was with us in Tokyo, documenting the trip and filming clips for their site. He collected a ton of swag to give out as random gifts with merch from their store. It brought back memories of a fanzine (Next Generation) contest I won in my early teens, where my game design doc for "Violin Master" snagged me a swag bag from the CES show. Before E3, CES was the SHIZNIT.
So thanks to Rocco I got inspired to have a similar contest here on NG! I grabbed a switload of swag and organized it into four piles, based on how many dupes I had. The first pile is the motherload; it has all the unique stuff that I only got one of. We'll be giving out these swag bags to the top four winners in this year's PUMPKIN CARVING contest.
When you carve a pumpkin this year, carve it with a Newgrounds theme! Take a picture and hold on to it for when I post the OFFICIAL PUMPKIN CONTEST thread (later, maybe on Halloween day). Respond to that thread with your picture. Winners will receive swag bags and some goodies from NG! The number of winners may vary based on the number of great submissions, but there will be at least four. Check out last year's winners for inspiration, but don't copy them!
Check out the latest news on my blog. I will be spending the rest of the week combing through the remaining Treasure Hunt submissions. Here's a pic of the Tokyo Game Show swag piles:
