Sorry for the double post.
They are saying Spring 2011 now.
Dammit code!
I can respect that there are floating point errors and whatnot, but 142.7 - 2.65 is not 140!
Anyone got any tips on how to reduce these kind of problems when working with collision detection? I wouldn't mind as much if it didn't result in objects getting stuck in walls and being destroyed, as well as causing an increasingly ugly visual glitch due to various game mechanics conspiring against me.

use fixed point integers? Flash snaps everything to 1/20th of a pixel anyway
Have you all seen this? Is anyone here going to give it a go? I'm not sure what to make of it to be honest.

I hope good things come out of it.
just cause they won't learn programming doesn't mean they won't learn game design
at some point they'll decide its too hard to make it do exactly what they want, and start learning a different language
I'm stoked about this:

I'm not sure if many are aware (or if its already been posted here).
But now everything can be used for commercial purposes even if its a student license.
I was arguing with the lady who sold me my version at the college. I assured her that you could not use it for commercial use, but she was under the influence that i could. Bothered her about it for so long, was not until some time later that i learned you could actually do it. Bit of a shack to my system, kinda felt like an ass for arguing about it for so long. : /

It has been discussed here before, but no harm in reminding people :)

Every phone has an operating system.

my phone has no camera, and has only a 2 color screen :(
None
I'm kind of surprised so many of you have android phones...I would have thought everyone, especially Glaiel, would have i-phones.
I just got a droid X with 2.2 and me and my partner (not THAT kind of partner) have successfully ported our next game to it (optimized for phone screen and phone performance) using Adobe Air.
We're gonna see if the Android Marketplace will be worth it or not.
You guys have any pet peeves or advice for releasing something in the Android Marketplace?

Demos are always nice. I think if you keep the price to around £1 I'd be more inclined to buy it. When I see apps for like 50p, I think of it as just spare change that I probably wont ever use. For some reason though, if I see an app for £2.50, I think of it as if every app i buy will be that much so in my head I'm thinking "Shit, if I buy 4, I've just wasted £10".

I don't pay for my phones, my father does <3
I can still see why people would feel that way, though.

now i feel spoiled with my tiny ass qwerty keyboard and 1 megapixel camera....
When I touch the screen on my phone, stuff happens!
Normally not the stuff that I want to happen, but stuff none-the-less!
But seriously, I have no idea how my phone has such good reviews; it's so incredibly annoying to use! Still, better than my old phone which would delete messages on a whim.

Don't you always lose your phone?
Like it's some kinda tradition or something.
I did something in Flash, aren't you guys impressed?
Wanting to Hire
So, money is the universal motivator; I want to give it out. Specifically, I want to give it out in an equitable arrangement between myself and a developer(s). I'm looking to have a game made, in addition to some other media. I'm creating a budget for it and I wanted to get your opinions on this particular aspect of the budget.
How much can I expect to pay to have a professional, high quality flash game made? Money is always an object, but for the sake of argument, let's remove this as a concern. I am a serious entrepaneur, with capital to back what I need, so don't pull punches. I want to get as accurate an estimate as possible. And if you're interested, let me know so I can keep you on file for future discussion/negotiation.
