What is love?

Butterflies in your stomach, sweaty palms, or maybe just a simple day at your favorite spot with a special someone. Love can be simple at times, and complicated at others. Love is messy, love is sweet, love is unique.

Love can be powerful and stir emotions inside someone that they never knew existed. An entire life can become the epitome of a single day because of the enigma called love.

What is love to you?

This side of the contest should be focused on experimenting. Love is as vague as it is unique, and there is an incredible amount of ways to approach this subject. Use colors, themes, and different experiences to your advantage. The drawing does not have to be light-hearted or frolic-y; you can draw depressive and emotionally heavy subjects ^^

Obviously a lot of what we learned about love stems from our early experiences, so themes like high school and children being adorable is not off the table, but for the love of god do not depict minors with adult themes.

+ WHAT TO DRAW:

- Anything related to love or its concepts.

+ RULES:

- Do not depict minors with adult themes.

- NO NUDITY, NO NSFW

- Character models must be OCs you own or ones used with permission.

+ DEADLINE:

- The deadline is February 13th at 11:59pm PST

+ HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY:

- Your entry must be uploaded to your profile AND posted in this thread

- Include the tag "concept of love 2021"

+ PRIZES:

• 1st place: $300
• 2nd place: $160
• 3rd place: $90
• 4th place: $50

I suppose characters that are public domain are the equivalency of having permission to draw them ^^

Does gore or horror imagery fall under NSFW? What would be limits in that category? Twisted love and obsession can make for very cool horror imagery~~~!

Also I imagine it is not limited to romantic love, right? 'v'
