Why are you americans so touchy about this stuff?
There is nothing wrong with this.
I'm not trying to say anything, I just thought it was an interesting read.
Interesting find I suppose. Blah blah blah 9/11 blah blah offense! Considering the years that have passed since the event, they are still quite touchy over this subject. And to make the connection with Pokemon? Silly Americans.
So, hey kids, gotta catch 'em all! Especially that new, super-rare Pokemon that is both the very embodiment of and directly responsible for 9/11.
le sigh
Because clearly anything involving an new york style city with any damaged building automatically means it is laughing at 9/11
How the hell is that offensive? Even if it was to be like where the towers fell it isn't like someone is wiping their ass with the remains; and OH NO kyurem's hight is 9 ft 11 in It's clearly mocking us zomfg ijsdnddaja. He's supposed to be the manifestation of the absence of yin and yang, not a terrorist. Plus the area Kyurem rests is nowhere near the desert.
I hate when people make all these stupid connections to anything that could ever reference 9/11. It's giving us a bad name. That area on the map is route 4, nowhere I know of is it called ground zero. It's just a big ass desert and a way to get to relic castle.
Jesus christ what a bunch of whiny assholes. Anything regarding 9/11 is 'a direct offense to the great american people'.
I'm gonna catch that pokemon and name is Osama. Anyone have any better ideas?
Even if it is a 9/11 reference, it isn't realy that offensive. It could just be some memorial symbolism. Nothing bad.

Just saying.

I thought the two destroyed towers in Ecruteak City were supposed to be the Twin Towers.
I don't think references to ground zero like the desert in the Unova Region are overly offensive. Simply bringing up the event is suddenly as offensive as denying the surviving victims of the attack health care? And pointing out that the meteor pokemon's height is 9 feet and 11 inches tall is being paranoid. The games was made by Japan, and they use the metric system. It couldn't have been on purpose.

How dare they do such offensive stuff oh my god!
lets see Katrina, gulf oil spill, holocaust. just too name a few disasters that were a little bigger
besides it's not like the desert completely represents ground zero. besides Ecruteak city in gold and silver better represents ground zero.
Man, the desert area was pretty great, i didn't know they had ancient ruins near WTC.
Een in a few hundred years if america lasts that long they wont shut up about 11/9. So anyone who comments on world trade center blah blah blah just ignore or tell them to stop being whining cunts. Preferbly the 2nd.
I still love Furfighters and the world quake center you crash a plane int oand knock down. Fun game yet it got loads of shit for its 11/9 reference...despite it coming out a few years before the event but you know it was taking the piss so yea lets complain about it.
The death toll in Japan from the March 11th 2011 tsunami is at 8,133, and 12,272 are still missing.
The Japanese police estimates the death poll will exceed 18,000. But 90% of Americans will have
forgotten about that within a few months and yet expect everyone to give a shit about their 2000 deaths that happened 10 fucking years ago. Fuck you guys.

I remembered the haiti thing for like a year with no reminders.Fuck you guys going
"OMG! Let's base everyone off of a few people!".
And that's perception.
The one I caught had the height of 9 feet 10 inches. Not 11

I see I am losing a battle here.

Gold and Silver came out in 2000.
The only reason anyone would say "90% of American's are obsessed with 9/1" is because the few people who care THAT much about it stand out so much.
Also, even if it was supposed to be 9/11 it's not offensive or anything. It's just, you know... There.
And another thing, I'm not one to care that much about 9/11, but I do know WHY people care. Some people are so touchy about it because it was an actual attack. Somebody tried to kill us (as Americans). A natural disaster is much different. There's no one to be angry at for natural disasters.

Nah, only one was destroyed.
And yeah, I found the placement of that fucking desert to be the most annoying thing in the world. Just why, Nintendo?
Huge city cut off from the world by a fucking desert... Nice job.
I can't believe anyone would want to take this shit seriously, just because said Pokemon is 9 feet 11 inches, doesn't always have to mean 9/11. First off, Japan uses the metric system, and it just so happens that through conversion of the metric to the American system for this game, turned out that said Pokemon is 9 feet 11 inches, whoop-de-damn-doo.
Second, I don't really recall seeing deserts and mountians near New York City, last time I checked. Sure, it may be based off New York, but it doesn't mean it's a freaking scale model of the city. Seriously, where do people get this shit from?
Just stop worrying, and love the bomb.

Agreed, and on another note, Kyurem isn't 9 feet 11 inches. He's 9 foot 10.
I think it was pretty firmly stated in the game that Kyurem's meteor landed on pretty much the exact other side of the region. The author of that article had apparently not done even a little research on it.
