My parents forced me to walk everyday to school and back to ensure I wouldn't grow up to be a lazy fatass. It worked, only I'm still lazy.
Dude, I've RUN to my school when I felt like it. It's 4 miles away, and I could run back home if I wanted to.
(I love my cross-country bragging rights.) But seriously, it wouldn't be the end of the world if we all started walking again.
Just think, when you have kids, you can say "When I was your age we had to wear actual underwear and pants or we'd get surprise buttsex. So no more mini-skirts for you."
That seriously made my day.
Anyway, you've got to respect your parents and deal with it. I'm only 16, and even found myself saying to littler kids, "You know, a few years ago..." That's how it all starts. We'll all be saying it before we know it!
I'm my age. And I take a one hour bus ride to school and a one hour bus ride home everyday. I spend most of it playing World of Goo now :)

First of all, 15 miles is unreal, since you would have get up at least 3 hours earlier, and the last time that has ever happened was probably like 80 years ago if you were black, and your parents chose to live right next to a white only school thats far as hell away from a black only school. And it would be your grandparents saying that.

Yes, I've heard this plenty of times. I also hear about they didn't use catcher's pads in softball and baseball, and all the scar tissue from getting sliced up from metal cleats, and the time my dad played an entire basketball season with hooping cough, and how he'd break fingers and toes and play, let alone not even notice, and how he'd spend time shoveling coal to keep himself warm.
