Getting un-depressed is easy. Because you're a musician (if you're not, why are you posting here), you can insult other people's taste in music and then just say random musical things to sound smart.

Example-

guy- "I like ke$ha"

you- "Ha! You like Ke$ha? She doesn't use a multi-band compressor on her bass and her percussion lacks any kind of stereo shaping"

Very Nice.

MIDI and Insanity

So, there's this one song I really want to learn to play on piano, and I can't read sheet music (Well, not to an extent that I can easily play along yet, I mostly play by memory), so I downloaded a MIDI file that someone made of it to play through Synthesia to help me learn it.

... Problem is, whoever did the MIDI for this song, for whatever stupid reason, decided to not only let every single note hold regardless of the notes playing after them, they also made it unplayable with 2 hands. These issues aside, it sounds really good... and wouldn't be a problem if I was playing with another person and I could process the blob of notes fast enough to play them... but I'm not, and I can't. I tried finding a better MIDI file for the song, to no avail.
So.. I've decided I'm gonna edit the MIDI file 1 note at a time to not only make it readable, but also playable with just 2 hands.

However... the song is over 6 minutes long, and these 2 issues are rampant all throughout... Which means I might very well go insane before I ever finish editing the MIDI to make it playable.

Apparently it looks like you have to keyboard mash, and use your tongue and feet as well.

More or less, that's pretty much exactly what it is, except you aren't restricted to a predetermined set of songs.... And you're actually playing an instrument instead of hitting just 5 buttons.

Practicing Instruments

Does anybody else feel a bit paranoid while they practice when other people are in the room? I can only really enjoy it when there is nobody in the house.

Yes I do, but I don't feel paranoid about it. I feel extremely disturbed instead.

No, I would usually get pissed off, because people don't understand that you're PRACTICING. Back when I took guitar lessons from a shop in town, I was practicing a song in my homeroom (Don't think. My high school experience was very different from yours.) and this damn kid kept on saying shit about how bad I was or that he could play it easy, blah, blah, blah, faggotiering bastard. He would do this despite my teacher and I telling him that, "You're a snotty little bitch, you know that right?" and other things to get him to shut up, because I would never get better if he kept BITCHING. He'd also keep asking me to let him play my guitar. Fuck no, I ain't got insurance on this thing, are you kidding? I have several other complaints of people when I'm practicing, but I'll leave that for another time.

Lol @ this story. Also:

Noses

Have you ever noticed that if you keep looking at somebody's nose, it'll look like the nose is actually too big for his/her face? You should try it, it's pretty awkward.

I've never had this happen, but there was a chick I knew in high school that everyone thought was hot, but I didn't understand why. She had a nose like a Who from Whoville and her facial structure was also quite Whovish. I thought it was rather disturbing and severely unattractive, but other people recognized that she looked like a Who and still said she was hot............... Childhood Dr. Seuss trauma turned fetish?

For real, I was friends with her, but it was kind of hard to look at her face, haha.
