What if there was one last act to the Ice Cap Zone?
There's the doctor again, plotting his scheme for world domination but Sonic cannot let this happen.
It all starts with a visitation of the icy lairs of the Ice Cap Zone where the blue blur finds Eggman trying to secure success by reviving his top lairs with the help of the Chaos Emeralds. The cold breeze winds back into his quills as he travels the freezing tunnels in search for his adversary.

This song was probably one of my most worked on. It doesn't feel complete, so I may go back and add onto it.

Song Specs:
Key: C Minor
BPM: 130
Instruments used:
2 basses,
2 strings,

Number 19 on the list? Incredible! :P Thank you a lot NG and everyone who reviewed the song and voted on it. This is very meaningful to me as a musician to see it in the Top 30 of the Audio portal!

Not often...

...But sometimes I come across a remix that deviates from the source material a decent bit without losing the sound of what they're supposed to be remixing. This does that very well, keeping the original theme while adding something completely new to the mix, with a story to boot! I like the visualization you put in it, and it helps me understand the feeling of the song as well. Nice one, it gets a download.

LightKeeper responds:

Thanks a lot. As I progressed with this one I just felt as though it had a certain finality in its feeling, so I put that into narrative and that seems like it's gotten across to people fairly well. It gives the song some purpose I guess.

The first thing you said was the intention behind the mix. I made an Ice Cap remix a long time ago on another account and it was received too well. One of the biggest, and probably greatest, pieces of criticism I received accounted for the unique sound in this remix. The reviewer wrote something on the lines of, "When you make a remix, add your own tastes to the song." What he said applies to all remixes. If the song isn't enough of your own, then it is more of a remaster than a remix, isn't it?

what u said is true... what if another act????

LightKeeper responds:

It'd be awesome. I'd say they should remake the old games with voiced dialogue and a 3D environment, but they'd probably screw it up.

Nice, but...

I just really wanted to hear that awesome chord sequence a little more clearly. Ya know? The one in the beginning of the level when he starts snowboarding down the hill. I hear a bunch of triplets over and over, but no solid melody. Just a bunch of high pitched noises. Then the refrain comes in and sounds pretty good. I just miss those chords I grew up with.

LightKeeper responds:

I know what you mean. But it's a remix. If you want to listen to those chords over and over with the same melody that you grew up with exactly as it was go and listen to the original or look up another generic remix. I'm trying to deliver an interesting interpretation of the song. The triplets give a better introductory feel.

Thanks for the more detailed review. Always appreciated.
