track 3 of 10 from Theotria
a loud song about air pollution and factories with a tongue-in-cheek title
shoutout to my friend, who goes by Nounbrain, who helped me greatly with writing the lyrics for this one! (they're not on NG)

lyrics:
mute and blind in the fields of smog
now we sleep under blankets of fog
we got rich, the sky got broken
pipes spewing chunky black clouds of smoke and
we can't see stars, you and whose army farm the tars?
we're killed in cars, in greenhouse jars of wind cigars
our lungs have scars, one cough, now gashes
so we wash it down with molasses
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
grow it, cut it, process it
everyone likes things sweet
muscular batteries
feeding the machine
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
semi-automatic sugar cane farm
music nerd stuff:
this one was born from a very old 2018 demo of mine, but the only thing that survived was that little bass lick.
a few famous bands inspired some of the creative choices on this track. for example, there's a lot of bitcrushed crunch and distorted noise inspired by nine inch nails and the distorted belting is quite muse-esque.
the distorted part right before the solo was actually an accident, somehow the drums broke, leaving me with just sine waves and all the fx. so i resampled that part. also asked some of my friends to cough like they're choking on toxic air and used that too.
parts of the bridge came to me in a dream and the bridge chord progression was a self-imposed challenge: i wanted to write something in locrian and make it sound good. (pro-tip: adding a 7th on top of the tonic chord helped quite a bit)
