August 2022
The weather intensifies. My allotment is drying out so fast, and a hose pipe ban lurking means I'm having to get creative with ways of watering the damn thing. I'm saving the water from my sink and short short showers the two of us have (not together!). It's just enoug to keep the plants alive, thriving, producing and cropping. It's a daily stress right now.
I'd hate to be a farmer.
It's why I can't play Stardew Valley; I fucking live this reality on a small basis of having to keep a small plot alive during a drought, and I don't think a game that involves the thing I have to do for real is going to be relaxing at all.

This is my entry for NGUAC 2022 Knockout. I've had this beat pounding in my head last week, when I was beat boxing it to myself I sort of knew the energy it needed to bring to the table but couldn't figure out what the sounds would be and I had thrown a lot at it and wasn't getting anywhere. Felt like crap, I just had a great beat but no melody. Then I misheard a song from a passing car, it was wonky and messed up because their car radio was cutting in and out of signal (an issue with where I live on the coast) and the car drove past… and there I had it, I instantly knew what needed to be done, rushed home, laid the synth line down then went back to work again! I have a quick breather between projects, so have finished this off for this the best I can with the time I have before heading into my next project.
Enjoy
