I composed this on one of many train journeys between where I studied in Bath, to where my band was based in Brighton. It's about a 3-4 hour commute each way, so I had plenty of time to kill on an OG MacBook Pro (so I only realistically had about 1-2 hour battery life to whip a demo together)! I used to sometimes break up my journey home by heading into London and walking from Victoria to Paddington station, but I'd get super lost as this was before I had a smartphone and remembering maps and routes is, like, genius stuff! I royally fucked up one time and ended up walking to Hammersmith, over shooting Paddington by a good few miles.

Prince and MJ inspired me massively at this point, I loved how they could make a melody pump with the simplest riffs. So I decided I would take that kind of methodology but speed it up a little and make it harder. Elements of this song were taken into the band and made into a song called She's The Man.
