Very nice

Here is another sizziling piece of art you have presented a nice piece of work I like that lighting in the back I think that could be light up much more and some glow to it especially on the outter lighting rods but anyways it's just something that you could let it glow like real lightning give it a try let it shine

~~THINGS TO IMPROVE ON~~
More glow and effects on the lighting

Interesting

I like how the expression of the Avatar mimics the action of the lightning strike in the background. The style looks painted which is a nice touch. I would have liked less blending and more detail in some areas. Adding details to the Avatars skin would have been a nice touch. Overall I think that it's a really nice piece! Good job!

Really good.

I like how you've blurred everything, but it is still obvious what it all is.

I love how the white spine on this creature echoes the lightning, bringing the piece together.

I'm quite a fan of colour schemes, so thought it would be nice if you had changed the colour of the creature to something more fitting, such as a light green. It would have completed it in my opinion.

Anyway, great work!

I suppose with making the snake blue/purple, I was trying to echo colours associated with the storm, and trying to make it stand out from the background. Green would (unless I were very careful) put it at risk of becoming 'lost' in the mostly green background. It would take a very experienced and talented artist to pull off a green snake on that background.

Thanks for the review.

Freeze Frame

I think that the main issue that this image has gone through a bit of a time warp - the debris off the tree has been thrown too far in the one instant when the lightning bolt strikes, for my liking.

I love the soft-focus effect that you've used, it really brings a sharper impression to the serpent / Naga / Yuan-ti in the foreground. It's almost a shame that it appears to have mammalian skin, rather than the reptilian scales that you would expect from something that looks like a snake.

Still, a very impressive level of detail all around.

EchoRun responds:

I guess with the lightning struck tree I was just trying to get that explosive power you have by the time you reach that last strike (lightning often strikes many times in one spot over a fraction of a second), just before the tree were to be set on fire. Very difficult to capture in any medium I suppose.

I would definitely be adding more detail to the snake were I to redo this or reuse the character. Probably spines, scales and the like. :)

Thanks for the review.

EPICZ

To be honest I can't see anything negative about this picture so I'm just going to say my favourite bits.

The streak down his back has a really nice effect, it does show that's it's lightning the same as the backround lightning, The shading is perfect even more so on the trees where the lightning struck.

The structure of the whole image is amazing. Hope you continue your awesomeness

Looking back now I think there is more I would have done to make it resemble lightning more, but maybe next time.

Thanks for the review. :)
