This game really reminds me of the last station

I'm hooked! Can't wait to see the final version. Is this leading to something you plan to release on Steam? (No pun intended)

As for suggestions.........

Some kind of storyline, perhaps. Or a storyline/free play option. Maybe the odd survivor you could recruit. More enemy variety.

An occasional event where you have to fight off an attack while you're docked, either at the warehouse or the trader, would shave some of the monotony. Which may be rewarded with discounts or a rare or otherwise unobtainable item from whatever trader you defended. And the possibility of being attacked while searching a warehouse would add some tension. A wider variety of items to loot and more locations to scout, like factories, towns or cities, each having their own different loot types, with a few junk items thrown in for that element of chance with useless stops vs prime loot stashes. Maybe food, water and medicinal items for your character(s). Toxic or radioactive zones that require limited use environmental gear or upgrades. And an odd point now and again where you have to choose between lines to travel.

I know that's a lot, but you did ask for suggestions.

Anyways, love the game. Love to see where it leads.

literally before i even took off in the train the first time, the exact type of game this was trying to be became immediately apparent and i was hooked.

i'm going to make a text-based incremental game based on this theme. i'll include credit to this game. but you can't have any of the riches i inevitably derive from said endeavor.

and by the time you try to sue me for any, i'll be able to afford way better lawyers than you so it'll be pointless.

update: taking off a star because the first two traders offered motors for insane costs i could not afford and the next three traders did not even offer a motor. given how important i'm assuming the motor is, having it rng-gated this way is insanely stupid.

Potent potential.
The only problem (other than the wave bar segments not being handled individually, a nit pick on my part) is that it is too basic at the moment
Possible Improvements:
-Increase variety by introducing land based enemies(some beasts and some raiders) that must be dealt with by switching to a special caboose gun and locomotive gun
-Findable survivors
-A food and fuel system (have enough of both for x days and make them renewable but consumption should increase with survivor count and train weight)
-Introduce navigation (make some stations host renewable resources and others guarded by fiercer foes)
-More turrets and upgrades, maybe something that transforms the train
