Reviews for "Devoured Intellect"

I admit to being very confused by this. I guess it's hard to look at an RPG made in such a short time. I mean, it made little sense. Have the designs of the medals changed? Anyway, this is just weird. I guess the drawings are good.

It just did little for me. Congrats on being the most popular game for this Ludum Dare. Well, last time I checked at least. I liked the variety of music. I guess people more into these kinds of games will like it more.

BoobMarley responds:

Wrong. Game made 100% perfect sense and is 100% perfect in every way.
Thank you for playing and for writing a pretty good, sober review.

pretty good i like it but you lose points for not having a randomizer to make it someone different each time the game is started. that would have made it alot more fun if it could be one of the others with unique dialog or to see what the paladin sounds like normally

BoobMarley responds:

You are the only person so far to have this unfounded expectation for a randomizer.
Why on earth would you ever want to play a computer game more than once, girl? Go outside.
Anyways, thanks for playing and reviewing!

When I hovered over the document, it ends with the word "lacks --." So I had no good criteria on how to judge the questions. Is that a layout bug?

The wizard's answer to Q3 doesn't make sense though - if the halfling has no money, how could he sell him more potions?

BoobMarley responds:

Firstly, yes that is intentional. The idea is have you aware that there is something peculiar to look for, but have no hard information.
Secondly, sure it makes sense. If you've ever known an addict in your life you'll they know that no matter how hard up for cash they are, they can always somehow find some to pay for their habit.
Thanks for playing.

it was ok

BoobMarley responds:

lol

This is not RPG

BoobMarley responds:

You play a role and interact with NPCs, using information gleaned from those interactions to make a decision. That is the fucking quintessence of role playing.
If you think the criteria of an RPG are optimizing equipment, turn-based combat, collecting macguffins, and leveling up ad naseum then you are ignorant about what RPGs actually are. Vidya gamez (especially JRPGs) took all the crunchy parts of D&D, streamlined them, and left actual role-playing as an afterthought. Your opinion on RPGs is merely the product of the highly reductive game styles brought about by the proliferation of video games. Bitchass.
