So for anyone struggling. Shields are not that great until you get them to higher levels. Especially for kack32. They are pretty good but too weak to do much early on. Put all the short ranged weapons like rifles, alien weapons, and homemade weapons up front and put lasers behind that. I am pretty much blowing through the game with full port slots and this has worked for me so far. I only put in shields just because I could and it turned out ok. My only problem so far is that whenever you leave the page or refresh it, the stats on the weapons change and only get WORSE. My lasers were doing 324 damage a 1.5s firing rate, now they only do 43..... That is NOT a good thing at danger level 43 :P
If the dev is reading this please fix? Please? It's actually really depressing to see your level 20 weapons that cost 323 do less damage than the same weapon at level 10 :(
Overall the game is good, addicting, simple, and just plain fun. BUT the data that SHOULD BE HARD CODED INTO THE GAME seems to get mixed up and put the player at a crippling setback from all the progress they made. Overall I give 3 stars instead of 5 because of that last fact as it kinda ruins the game, especially considering how many levels there are and how each one will only get harder :(

Not as good as previous versions. This one seems far too drawn out. the new features are all well and good, but the game play has suffered and I found after completing about 6 bosses that I was frustrated by the lack of space to upgrade the ship and the grind to get new squares.
Well off the bat the game is SLOW. Like dreadfully slow and you can't do anything BUT play the game if you so much as click off it, pause for no reason. can't alt tab it and let it go or anything. It's a real annoyance. Especially how slow it progresses.
The upgrades only coming from bosses is so so, and only picking up so many gems is alright but is it really needed?
Overall it's nice but it's not grabbing me and yanking me into want to keep playing mode. I grew tried of it rather quickly due to how it plays. Basically add a speed up option at minimum or allow alt tabing.
I don't like the fact that I can't use money for shit except to buy new stuff. I can't upgrade with it. I can't get new ship slots. It's annoying.
Basically every single thing theekevy said is exactly right, I have nothing to add other than to not give it as much credit, three stars is excessive. The longer the game goes the worse it gets, meaning I wasted more time hoping the game would get more interesting instead of just realizing from the beginning how bad it is
