Reviews for "Sol: Clockwork- Part 1"

Issues right off

I really don't have much to go on as it's very hard to get beyond the first couple of screens.

Combos: Way too hard to trigger. Sure, they shouldn't be too easy, but if you can't hit melee combos reliably, you're dead.

Parry: Almost always succeeds you say? So far, failed every single one of the dozen or so times I've tried.

Given this, at the outset you are facing fighting skeletons that are a very close match for you trading blows. You can't heal except for two strawberries, and once you're out of those, nothing left.

So what are you supposed to do? I keep trying and no matter what I can't get past the first few screens of skeletons.

Looks like it _could_ be good, so I've given it a 5. Love to be able to see more so I could actually rate it and hopefully enjoy the entire game!

Hazard-Productions responds:

Parries don't work against magical & long range attacks! You can, however block *almost* anything, including those skeleton guys, with your shield. And if you just can't seem to get the melee combo, the bow works very well against the skeletons, and in fact does slightly more damage than the full combo with the starting sword.

Sorry you had a hard time with it, I guess =/

Not this bad, but...

Brom?! Is it the Carvahall? The story of Eragon, the Shadeslayer (of Christopher Paolini)? WTF, dude!!

A lot of problems.

The game was fun for what little I was able to play of it. Right at the beginning, the girl was following me and constantly engaging a conversation, so I couldn't go anywhere. And if I did get away from her, every sign I passed made me automatically engage it. As I said, I liked the combat, but these problems made the game very annoying to play.

Hazard-Productions responds:

...were you holding down the spacebar?

annoying

All I have to say is that I"ve spent a half hour on the boss and everytime I get his health to 10 or less he heals himself to 30. Rinse repeat. Either give him a ton of health to start or a finite number of heals because I see no way to get past this and it ruins the game.

Bad

Incredibly clumsy interface and combat mechanics
