Only Problem: The music restarting
Awesome game, great old school feel, I can almost imagine being a kid again playing this on SNES or NES even. It is hard,but it's nintendo hard, so people need to stop bitching about that. At least you don't have a set number of lives and continues.
My only bitch, is the whole 'you beat the level, simple little diddle will now override the awesome music that was just playing and restart it. ' or the same thing if you die. Basically if you want to hear the whole song you have to just stand there and listen, which ruins the flow of the gameplay.
Other than that it's fucking great. Hope to see more like it.
Very fun game. I actually find it more difficult than Super Dangerous Dungeons – which is a good thing. Perhaps because the levels were originally designed for this engine. I don’t think the checkpoints mode was really needed, though younger and less skilled players might be happy about them. The hidden bonus levels are a nice addition. I’ve found a few bugs, one of which crashes the game, but that’s not a big problem since your progress is saved.
I really like the pixel graphics. Best style for things to look good if you don’t have a year to hand-draw everything.
As for the in-game music – it’s fitting enough. But you’re gonna go crazy if you listen to the menu theme for more than a minute.
Anyway, I think that it’s still worth playing. Especially that it has them shiny achievements. Hehe.
Quite challenging! But fun! I've completed the Story Mode without checkpoints!
