Reviews for "Agony: The Portal"

cool and a bug(?)

It starts a bit slow but it becomes really cool later on.
Might be a bit repetitive cause in the end it is going to be 80% the same fight over and over again.

I noticed that after level 6 or 7 heal, the heal percentage doesn't go up anymore.
But the time to recharge keeps going up?

Is that a bug or is that intended? if so you better just put a limit on number of levels of heal or don't make it so that upgrading makes it weaker by increasing the cooldown.
Not sure but it seemed really strange.

And i felt that finesse needs a bit of a boost. It's good but it doesn't seem to be worth the point investment compared to the other 2.
But that is a minor thing and might just be preference.

besides that cool music and cool game and runs smooth.
so good job.

Mediocre

Game play- The game play got kind of old (let's face it, that is the most important part). I found the combos after a while (they weren't mentioned in the tutorial, at least not that I noticed. I went a while with just a heal spell and the U key) and they were a little refreshing I suppose.

Sounds- Not bad at all. I like the epic music, and the minions high pitch screams.

Graphics- Well the actual graphics were not the worst I have seen. Some improvement wouldn't be bad, but I wouldn't say necessary. It would be nice to have a village for a background. Or windmill. Or totem. The generic backgrounds were weak. Also, the font. There were a few words that I could not determine what they were at all. The font looked nice one the words I could read, but something clearer would be better.

Story- I never saw any humans. Maybe they came later? What's his name (legendary warrior) looked human in the beginning. Also, I thought the undead would be better during an eclipse. Just me. It wasn't too bad, it was a classic good vs evil from the evil perspective. Overall I liked it.

Bugs- 1. My Character always said "level up" with an arrow pointing to the stats screen. That was annoying. 2. Maybe you meant for the screen drag to go the wrong direction? I guess it isn't technically a bug, but it was strange. Also, it always went right back to the character. I wanted to check out the world.

The store- I didn't like it, not because you had to pay money (well... I didn't like that either, but I understand it.) but because it never worked. I could never get my free item, much less pay for one. Also it took forever to load. Also... would an undead super-warrior really go to a store?

Also, it might be good to have it possible to be only a spellcaster. That would be pretty sweet. I didn't feel it was possible because the character would be too weak.

Overall, it wasn't too good, but not too bad. It doesn't deserve a zero though. I enjoyed it for a while. Sorry if I pointed out a lot of negatives, I was trying to be constructive. There are positives that I failed to mention.

So many complaints...

Ppl, seriously, as a developer myself, I know how tough it is to work several hours in a project and get nothing in return.
I must recognize it is a good initiative, so that other game developers can follow the monetization model.

I liked the game! It was a lil' boring in the beginning (like the majority of rpg-based games :D), but after killing the 1st king and getting stronger spells I was convinced enough to go 'til the end of the undead's journey :P

wtf

i honestly dont get why people are saying that this is a poorly made game. this is one of the best ever. very original, great fighting concept and although i hate the coins where you have to pay for them with real money... this is still an awsome game

i have one word for you: surveys ;)

Nice game

Good game. Like the fact that you can always upgrade your items and increase your skills etc. Not against the donation idea either. I wouldn't pay for it though. Game is not 'diverse' enough to warrent this. But fun nonetheless! :)
